I'm sorry but you don't know how money works. That's okay, because games journalism is so bad you wouldn't know. But from someone who understands:

Short version - New games sales make very little money. Of a new game sale, maybe 30% goes to the publisher - not back to the developer, just to the publisher who doles it out from there. So $13M sales = less than $4M profits for the publisher. Much like a Hollywood film, half the game's budget is marketing an...

Good.

(If you're still pre-ordering and giving companies free hype based on pre-rendered CGI introduced by paid shills, shame on you. I song care what date is is. E3 deserves to die. The Doritos Locos Tacos Mountain Dew Gamer Fuel Brought To You By Verizon Game Awards should die too.)

"Designed by ASUS ROG" all the people trying to dump on these designs because of Ikea... They didn't even design these. I think it's a cool concept. IKEA sells RGB stuff too, like smart bulbs you can tune from your phone, so the designs are black and white to respond to your RGB setup. Neat. The wooden "drawing model hand" for holding accessories is rad. I have a friend who's an art school student who would love that as a headphone holder.

There is one good use case for this. A Chromecast Ultra costs $30. A next-gen controller is like $50. So if you want those things, you can get this Stadia pack for like $60. Then use the Chromecast for streaming, and the Stadia controller for Steam or whatever. That's a good deal, IF you need those things.

You didn't watch the video, so let me summarize for you.

Roblox takes a staggering percent of the money from any sale on its store (claimed is 75%, real is higher, other game markets are more like 10-30%). A staggering proportion of Roblox' userbase is children. So they're pretty directly exploiting child labor. Meanwhile the profits the Roblox company are posting are many times larger than platforms like Steam. Meaning Silicon Valley is investing billions in ch...

I'm literally autistic, and I have never had a problem with a game being in 30fps. If I'm not having a problem, then trust me, most of the complaints about 30fps are all about e-peen points and not about gameplay. Now 60+fps (yes it's a thing on computer monitors) CAN be helpful for some genres. Twitch shooters where pixel-perfect aiming is necessary (Quake railguns), racing simulation games (not Forza but more like Assetto Corsa). But for 99.9% of games people are playing? You co...

Y'all know they're still accepting microtransactions, right? It doesn't take many gambling-addicted $20,000 whales to equal the same amount of money they would have made selling a million copies (developers/publishers/retaile rs only get a fraction of the money you pay).

MGS's story is awful and a lot of people have heavy nostalgia because it was one of the first games they ever played that tried to be cinematic. Kojima's dialog is like 99% recycled Hollywood action movie cliches.

Luckily, teenagers exist.
Teenagers?
Yes, people between the ages of thirteen and seventeen.
Seventeen, huh? That's less than 18.
That's right. In Viet Nam teenagers went to war, but now they're playing video...

Death Stranding was not even the first Strand type game. See matthewmatosis' review for a breakdown.

TLDR lots of other games did similar concepts before. One example of doing exploration for social/community goals was Noby Noby Boy from 2009.

CDPR edited the game page so 2077 is officially "action-adventure" genre, not an RPG.

People still think the RPG mechanics and open world are going to get "fixed".

Wake up Samurai, you just got burned.

They explicitly disallowed reviewers from posting PS4 footage.
If YongYea or Laymen or whomever had said PS4 was crap, they'd be blackballed from reviewing for CDPR.
Still think CDPR didn't know?

CDPR explicitly demanded in their review embargo that you could NOT show your own footage of the console versions, and you could NOT talk about the console versions. You had to use their (pre-rendered, PC) footage to show the game in the best light on consoles.

Still want to pretend CDPR didn't know?

I'm sorry, normal people sleep with their legs hanging off the side of the bed?

At this point I sincerely believe most of the people saying CP2077 isn't buggy for them have a low ability to process visual information. They literally can't see what's wrong with the picture.

Hint: The character model is supposed to be rotated 90 degrees to fit on the bed.

Sony isn't slowing investment? What happened to FF13 exclusivity? (don't tell me you still believe they weren't paying for it) What's coming out past Summer '09? (compare to how Sony was showing off a ton of games in '05 and '06 that still aren't out)

Besides, everyone is missing the point- The next generation of consoles is coming sooner than you think. That's what this is really about. Microsoft is striking harder, earlier because they're probably launching their next console s...

I was waiting for it, and there it was... "Even if your not happy..."
The true sign of a raving fanboy retard, not being able to use the correct versions of your/you're in a sentence.

How about- thats like saying lets limit the PS3
Corrected, this should be: That's like saying, "Let's limit the PS3"

When a person can't even use the English language correctly, you can rest pretty assured you're just reading a bunch of nonsense.

This article and 90% of the responses are crap.
-As pointed out, most of the article just talks about how other systems were hacked, and not about the PS3.
-The reasons he claims PS3 wasn't hacked are nonsense. The real reason is that you can load Linux on the PS3 out of the box and run homebrew apps immediately- hacker's haven't been stopped, they've been too busy to get to other aspects of the hardware!
-How is installing Linux on the system and running your own apps out o...

$1,7000 U.S. for 1.6GHz Core2Duo.
That's what's wrong.

A similarly-powered laptop, even one weighed down with a hefty features list, can be gotten for closer to $1,000.

My current desktop PC was bought a year ago for $600, and has a 2GHz Core2Duo. The gap between laptops and desktops is pretty ludicrous.

Yeah, Google is acting offended that Microsoft might try to exert a monopoly on the search market, when Google currently has a near monopoly on the search market.

Pot, meet kettle.

Most of this list is pretty poor. Like in Halo, the best example they had was teabagging? How about Mongoose racing? Griffball? Puzzle maps? Roller coasters? Rube Goldberg machines? And so on. Some of these items are cool, but nowhere near the coolest.

J. Allard talked about one of the neater ones for PGR on the Majornelson podcast- Cat and Mouse. Teams have two players- one in a Mini Cooper and the other in a big sportster like a Ferrari Enzo. Both players match colors to tell...
