While the two are associated (as Ultrapepe has explained) Bethesda have no control over what ZeniMax do. In theory ZeniMax run a legal service which is solely for the use, legal and business etc. of Bethesda.

I think that a San Andreas remake would be far more popular than a GTA V unless they greatly improve how the main story is written compared to GTA IV.
With games like Skyrim you are paying for the story and thats where the value for money is. Whereas with shooters and mobile games you are paying less for single player length and more for replayability and multiplayer features.

Whilst Halo is pretty key to Microsoft and Xbox to say success hinges primarily with one series is a bit of a bold statement.
