From the stand point of an Xbox gamer like myself the problem isn't very pronounced; however, I would still love to see the best quality games available made. (Even if it isn't for my console)

Gears of War was on of the best looking games ever, but its multiplayer mode is not even comparable to most shooters.
before the beta, everyone was wondering what bungie would cook up. Now that they have a very basic feel for it, they really arn't a crazy about it. The release will be the climax of all the hype, but I agree that the beta sort of derailed the hype for a little. (More of slowed then stopped)
I couldn't manage to get a code, and I'm not willing to buy a game to play a beta [I did try renting crackdown though]
Besides counterstrike, and mmorpgs, a genre that the article probaly didn't mention just because of the 'Duh factor' what games out there skip the single player?
Single Player only = Full game
Multiplayer only = half a game?
Why is there that disparity?
I actually love the game. I do wish it would get some DLC soon though...

It's almost better to get no multiplayer, than a crappy multiplayer. Singleplayer has been the focus on this project.
