Characterization all the way.
The people and organizations who oppose gay and lesbians most virulently are in fact repressed homosexuals and pedophiles. Healthy well-adjusted straight guys and women aren't really bothered on a gut level by gay men and lesbians. The opposition generally spews forth from maladjusted deviants: Ted Haggart, Iris Robinson, Carrie Prejean, Larry Craig, priests who are cool with child molestation, etc. More and more, everyone is realizing this and in 2010 one of the easiest ways to make one's...
Agreed with the poster above who said Magna Carta. I'm thinking of the original Magna Carta for PS2. I didn't read anything about it online just saw it in the store and thought it would be a good fit with my tastes since I like JRPGs and like finding neat things outside of the mainstream. I felt like I knew the big surprise 3 hours into the story; it was too obvious. Couldn't justify sitting through it.
(Dis)Honorable mention would go to Dark Cloud. Unfortunately, I did fi...
He shouldn't be running around saying things like this. Either he's just unduly hard on himself or MGS4 isn't what it was cracked up to be and he's trying to do preemptive damage control for his own reputation, at the expense of Sony and Konami. Shame on him either way, for spreading bad publicity on MGS4.
From VGcharts (estimate)
There are approx:
20.25 million next gen consoles sold in North America.
6.25 million next gen consoles sold in Japan.
14.25 million next gen consoles sold in Europe/"Others"
This includes Wii's.
Note that this doesn't include the week of 12/23 for North America, which should beef up its tally significantly.
North America is the largest world market by far, moving more t...
"Haven't you learned that homosexuality still isn't an accepted way of life? Keep it to yourself if you don't want to be harrassed. "
Welcome to 2007. You have a lot to learn.
Some people take pride in who they are. And no, gay people aren't "criticized" in all walks of life. Where I'm from (Eastern Pennsylvania, United States) the only people who complain and get all hot and bothered about gays & lesbians are secretly gay themselves. It happens all the time. Otherwise, most people are pretty chill and have better things to worry about.
I was really suspicious by all of the overly high Final Fantasy XII reviews. I love the series, but that that game felt really incomplete and rushed. I'm not even talking about the real time battle thing, which I actually liked. Many fans were disappointed with the story and characters, which is what the series was formerly known for. I think privately, it's regarded as a major let down while all of the public reviews are glowing. Very, very shady.
This is a victory for Microsoft. Their PR machine here is like a well oiled political campaign. No one ever votes for the candidate on the defensive. How will this appear:
Sony rep says, "Microsoft lied! They didn't sell twice as much as us, they only sold 1.85 times as much as us!"
Either way, it gets the point across. Microsoft outsold Sony. That's the whole point they're making. The more Sony belabors the point and tries to correct the 2:1 fi...
It's always great when companies try to tell consumers what to do. "You want a PS3? Work more hours!" (we all remember that, right?)
"Want MSG4? Buy a Playstation!!!"
It's really arrogant. It leaves a sour taste in the consumer's mouth. No one likes being told what to do. This Kojima guy is getting pretty arrogant too and rigid in his vision. Daikatana effect?
The reason it makes more sense to predict PS3 exclusive...
A good game will sell regardless of its graphical prowess. Yay for Nintendo!
As in really finish it...
IIRC, the last "epic" offering from this mega-corp was about 60% complete and then a very senseless contrived ending was tacked on and voila! Shipped out the door.
That's the dark side of brand loyalty. Loyal consumers remember not only those who consistently reward them but also those who take advantage of their devotion to sell them snake oil. Thanks Square/Enix but I know who your target demographic is these days and I...
His reviews are really anti-social. It seems like this guy gets off on going against the grain. There are lots of people out there like him IRL unfortunately. They are perennially unhappy and get some sort of delight from telling other people that whatever music or movies they like are "stupid" and assuming some sort of faux intellectual superiority. It's not too hard to see what happens when you give one of them a job as a games critic. C'est la vie.
They did do that to the letters in the sUpeR MaRIo GalAxY logo. I had to check it twice to see what you were looking for. I never heard of this site before but it seems very amateur to say the least.
My point wasn't that there were no negative articles about the PS3. My point was that last year, the idea of PS3 as such an overwhelming failure didn't seem like something that could realistically happen. Lo and behold...
A year ago, an article like this would have been unheard of. PS3 was supposed to be the unequivocal super-champ this generation. Now all we can do is scratch our heads and wonder "is it really *that* much of a failure?" The fact that the question even needs to be stated speaks volumes.
"Kojima said many times MGS4 would not come to 360. And the FF trailer(new one from TGS) said FOR PS3 ONLY. What more confirmation do you need?"
Unfortunately, Kojima is not Konami; he's an employee. The producer of the game isn't going to be able to dictate to his employer what they can and can't do with his work product. Follow Konami closely enough and you'll see the have both a history of going where the money is and a present distaste for Sony's lackluster PS3 ...
This is one of the most objective and clear statements of why Halo and its cascading effects will give Microsoft a nearly insurmountable advantage. Well said!
FFXII was terrible from a story standpoint. The series has gone totally cash-cow and each release seems to be increasingly style-over-substance. No thanks, I say. After that disappointment, FFXIII is a very low priority. I'm much more interested in Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and even Eternal Sonata.
Lame article. It's 2011 and the PS3 at long last is a decent offering. My brother's girlfriend got him one for his birthday and he tried to sell it to me but I convinced him he should keep it and that it would be useful to have in the next year or two. I'm glad there's one in the house in case I want to play one of their exclusives.
Still, let's get real. The battle ended long ago. The Xbox 360 came out in Autumn 2005. If I tried to sell a console ...
