Let's pretend for a minute that a "perfect" game is possible. If so, wouldn't it have to innovate slightly to reach that status?
Some examples of recent shooters that had a decent-good story: Darkness 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Max Payne 3, Resistance 3, and possibly Uncharted 3.
Crysis 2's story was a mess, but I'll still give this guy a chance. There's really nowhere to go but up at this point.
Seriously, I dare you to hear Sev's "motivational speech" from the game, then come up to me and say with a straight face that KZ3 had good writing.
Not to mention the ending was such a punch in the junk that I spent the next week with my legs crossed.
I agree. If done right, this could really move copies (pun intended) and make for an extremely immersive horror experience.
Same, I hated the first one; it felt clunky and repetitive. However, I got Darkness II during the Gamestop sale a while ago, and am in love with it. Fluid, unique gameplay, colorful visuals, involving story... it's a real shame it was so overlooked. Hey, I blame myself as well. :P
If you haven't played Rayman Origins yet and are even slightly interested in 2D sidescrollers, you know where you'll be heading soon.
Uncharted 3 for $20? I'll definitely be picking that up soon. Now I'm starting to feel glad I held out. :)
No need to worry about that, Capcom; you've pretty much already failed.
It'll be really interesting to see how this turns out. Class4 is also going to be coming out in the near future, so let's see which one is the better zombie MMO.
It depends on the game, of course. If a game is lazily made or uninspired, then no. Also, length and/or replayability is a big factor as well.
Believe it or not, MW2 actually has one of my favorite FPS campaigns ever. I also really liked the Spec Ops and multiplayer. IMO, this was the last CoD before the series started to really become tired and samey.
*SPOILERS*
If you've played the first game to its conclusion, you know that by eliminating the 9 targets, Altair was essentially helping Al Mualim to safely secure the Piece of Eden for himself. With each man he killed, Altair further questioned what he was fighting for and started to doubt the 'good vs evil, us vs them' mentality that was fed to him by Mualim. Compare that to AC 2, Brotherbood, etc, where the villains are generically evil. Not only that, but thei...
Hi all,
I'm the writer of this article (Michael Urban) and I just want to clear up any problems with the title. I stated it was "refreshing" because it signifies a return to the themes of grey morality in the series, something you would understand if you read the article. I'm not saying that I or anyone else 'gets off' to killing Americans, I'm saying that it's nice to see Connor isn't one-sided.
When I saw the first cover's character, I told myself there couldn't be another one that looked more like a frat boy.
Clearly I was wrong.
This will leave so many people confused. :P
Pre-order at Gamestop to get the exclusive cattle herding mission and early access to the golden tractor.
You give them too much credit, Valve.
Pretty good list. For me, the "Nemain" track from Super stardust HD is my #1 choice. I feel so awesome whenever that plays. Or maybe it's just my delusions of grandeur. :P
Apparently, Eyepet and Start The Party are essential gaming experiences that everyone on this planet should own.
No. Just no.
You could have fooled me, Capcom. The demo I saw presented generic chase sequences and hand-to-hand combat. If anything, this game is continuing the trend of pointless violence in games.
