This is Microsoft reacting to Sony kicking their ass. Why would Sony respond with anything other than assurance that more consoles are coming to consumers?
So why not release a padless system, lower the price, include a pro controller, and make the game pad more like a kinectless accessory that is a decent, I'm home, portable gaming device. Also, where is an extensive WiiU virtual console lineup?
This is great news but it doesn't mean anything to me until Microsoft releases a $399 kinectless bundle.
Here is my idea for Nintendo:
Nintendo should partner with Samsung, like they were considering in the past. They should release a Nintendo brand, wait for it...Super Mario Galaxy Phone. Here is what it would include:
The next generation Samsung Galaxy (Whatever they keep calling it) phone. It would come with a micro USB to HDMI adapter, the Nintendo store as a preloaded app, and a coupon or whatever for some games/a couple preloaded games on it.
But mobile can be a console. At least it is for me.

While we would all love Xbox live to be free, I would also be fine with getting more for my money if they keep it a pay service. Look at Playstation plus. Why do us live users get the worst deals? Why did I get 20MP as a birthday present?

I think they really need to retire the whole Playstation thing and start fresh. I was thinking about this the other day but what if Sony never rebounds from Annonymous' hacks? They have provided great damage control from the incident but I'm sure the bleeding has never stopped, just slowed down.

IMO, wiiU should be renamed to "the nintendo entertainment system" and should contain a network complete with the ability to buy dlc and every licensed Nintendo product available for purchase. The wiipad should allow you to play your purchased downloaded games like an ipad. You could always be on the wiiu playing in the living room or in your bed playing a link to the past.
XBox fanboy here. Wanted to buy a 250 gb 360 holiday bunde for $199.99 to upgrade my 120 360 elite bought 3 years ago. Could not find anywhere. Walked into Meijer at 11:53 am on Friday (7 minutes before their BF deals ended) and bought the PS3 holiday bundle (one of only two left). Do not regret one bit. Loving the PS3.
Tl;dr : Xbox fanboy buys PS3 and loves it. @microsoft/retail stores/whoever cares: better stock (non-kinect versions) = Xbox fanboy you would still have.
