What am I missing here, the author says he's in no rush to go out and buy a 4K TV, he'll get the pro because of the HDR has piqued his interest...don't you need a 4K tv for HDR?

They don't need to do anything....Theres a reason 3DTV never took off, the majority of people don't want to wear anything around their heads for entertainment. VR will be nothing more than a phase, a novelty like PSMove and Kinect
Do you really think if Sony could emulate PS3 that PS2 would even be a thing? Absolutely not, Sony is grabbing for anything here after MS came out with BC first. Sony's problem is they can't emulate PS3 so they're doing it with PS2.
