To be fair, the original playstation was built off of technology that Sony was trying to market as an addon for the Nintendo Famicom.
Sony has done great things, but the idea that they didn't copy from others before them is silly.
I'm sure the controller is awesome, but IMO, the definitive version is the one that I got for free on gamepass.
The fact that this negative story is the "hottest" and almost only story featured about the XSX is a perfect example of why N4G sucks.
First of all, this is a technical preview. It isn't meant to be perfect.
Second, many of us, me included, have played dozens of matches yesterday. I had a blast and played long enough for a second map to be added to the preview.
The problem with this site is that negativity towards the o...
Still trying to figure out why PC gamers want to compare their $2,000 PC systems with the the performance of a $500 console. Considering the dollar to performance ratio, the console is a much better deal.
Covid killed my father-in-law law. Can we agree that covid screwed him or do we have to play these dumb semantic games?
WTF is techstomper?
This is the dumbest statement on here today. It's the best deal in gaming.
FULL STOP
"Stole the company?". They paid over 7 billion for the company. You might not like the deal, but it has nothing to do with theft.
As for prior deals, Zenimax was contractually obligated to give those times exclusives so MS can't change that.
What a confusing comment. Many of us have GP to get 1st party MS games on day one. To get other games like this made by non-MS owned studios on day one too is GRAVY.
The real question is why would this annoy you?
A deal is a deal so if sony paid for exclusivity, than they should receive that.
That said, if I understand correctly this is timed exclusivity not permanent exclusivity. So Xbox is going to get the game and if your game pass member, like myself, I'm essentially getting it for free.
I know I'm going to get attacked for this statement, but IMO the best thing that could happen for gamers is for Xbox to take the lead this gen. Xbox has been pushing cross platform as a way to get gamers back in their camp. If they take the lead, Sony will embrace this concept too.
Btw... I'm not suggesting Xbox will take the lead again,; I'm simply saying that good competition will likely lead to the best consumer friendly environment for us gamers.
Another developer over never heard of.
Suddenly 60fps isn't important. Seems like all of the articles are about SSDs, no loading times, and the tempest engine/audio tracing. I'm by no means saying that such things aren't exciting. I'm merely pointing out that the console makers have done a great job of moving the goal posts of what "next gen" means.
Ugh....I'm not saying that the PS5 won't be great. I was only pointing out that a comment from an unknown developer doesn't mean that much. I would say the same thing if it was a comment in favor of the XSX. Some of you guys get so tied to these console companies that you can't be objective anymore.
Says a developer that I've never heard of before.
The more interesting question is whether the DE version is the one that hits the $499 with the disc-based version a little higher. That would allow Sony to market the PS5 at a sub $500 price tag. I know the hope is for the DE to be $399 or $449 with the disc version at $499, but there were a few stories that talked about how expensive this machine is to make.
That said, these companies don't make the majority of their money on the consoles. It's the games and s...
I'm blown away by some of the comments on this thread. I'm seeing people from both camps talking about how 60fps doesn't have to be the default. Go back a year or two and everyone pretty much thought that 60fps would be a must have for a next gen system. Also, the PS5's SSD looks amazing and I'm sure it will be put to good use in amazing games, but seeing Sony fans talk trash about SSD's and the Tempest Engine over higher clock speeds and beefier GPUs is just amazin...
First of all, I've never heard of this website before so I have no idea how this story/opinion piece got so much praise.
I'm an Xbox guy, but admit that Sony is a great company with great games. They do lots of things that make gaming better. That said, IMO this design stinks. I'm not saying the XBSX is better, I'm merely saying this design is terrible. For one, it's huge. It's super tall. Thank God it can go sideways, but even so, it will then be...
Huge release of what unquestionably will be a great game, but advertising on the side of a train is hardly "next level".
Huge Halo fan, but Destiny never really clicked with me. For one, it was super repetitive and got really old quickly. But good for Sony.
