...what about making money off the pain caused to rape survivors? I mean really, a team Dickwolves shirt, months after the original controversy? IN the style of a sports jersey? Team Dickwolf, really?
And they are making pure profit off it! At least that other guy making the Dickwolf Survivor's Guild shirt is donating all profits to a rape survivor's charity.
The article took apart that response, I think. Me, personally, I thought the follow up comic was them being jerks. Especially now that PA is selling Dickwolves t-shirts and pennants like the article says.
Why do you think the controversy is stupid? Considering the amount of rape and sexual abuse in the news, seems like there would eventually be spillover into gaming :(
Penny Arcade has done lots of good things and they have a funny web comic, but I do't think this excuses the awful way they acted or the fact that they're now trying to profit off of hurting people. That's messed up.
Man, Ninja Gaiden 2 for the 360, as Penny Arcade put it "is so hard, it will kill your FRIENDS".
YES FUCKING YES. Thank God someone is thinking correctly. She is pretty much the best female protagonist in gaming history (even better than Samus).
Psh. He's a cool horse, but doesn't ride to the level of sidekick, I think. I mean, otherwise why not call ever car Tommy Vercetti 'jacks a sidekick too?
The question then becomes, where does DLC fit in?
PLus, like the article says, it's a right enshrined in law, and it's also ethically sound.
If used games are outlawed, only outlaws will have used games!
But can't you just turn around and use the credit towards a new game?
About time someone pointed out the analysis and facts. Video game publishers just want more money & have been trying to ban used games for years. But they still make millions and move units on par with movies.
If it wasn't for used games I'd never have become an atlas fan. And when I trade in my games, I turn around and buy one NEW game.
so what would you say is the second best? ;)
it shows that while they are serious rappers they are also serious gamers. it's liked they decided to see how many game references they could cram into one song & still make an awesome track.
i think he could have included notorious b.i.g.'s rap about super nintendo and genesis.
... the Japanese Super Mario 2 was made by someone who hated video game players. When the "lost" SMB game was released as The Lost Levels, the Poison Mushroom was redesigned to be purple and have a distinctly different pattern.
I would think he'd not mention the BEST since the article was about the WORST.
"Is it true, I asked, that the game is called Final Fantasy because Sakaguchi was going to go back to college and quit the game biz? Uematsu laughed: It’s true that Sakaguchi was going to quit, he said, but the bigger reason, the real reason, was that Square was going to go bankrupt and the designers believed that it would be the company’s swan song. Did you read the article? There are a whole host of other things the writer say are unnecessarily blurred, from nude chick to headshots.
And anyhow, what the hell would be wrong with the writer if he did? Homophobia went out of style in the 5th grade, buddy.
I have tested this link with 3 seperate browser & OS setups, running a virus checker. None found. Nothing turns up in FF or google's alerts either.
From the article:
"According to the Community Counseling Centers of Chicago, a third of rape survivors can develop post-traumatic stress disorder. McEwan further explained that "...rape jokes trigger (some) survivors of sexual violence... A survivor of sexual violence who experiences a trigger is experiencing the same thing as a soldier who experiences a trigger, potentially even including flashbacks... [and] post-traumatic stress disorder..."
