All of those games are sequels, its a shame there is no new ip's to look forward to these days.
In terms of gimpy AI, cod wins hands down. I remember in CoD 2, defending a building as russians on veteran, I just had to hide up the stairs and watch a door because it was too hard to shoot from the windows. The AI would run past all your team mates in the building just to get to you. Makes you wonder though, when will we see a game which has a breakthrough for AI and what will the next gen consoles give us for improved AI.
I would applaud EA, but as a long time bf fan (2000+ hours over the series) I think they slipped up with this one. Sounds like a cliche, but they tried to steal market share by copying and adapting rather than innovating. The single player was forgetful so you wonder why they put it in when we all know bf = multiplayer focussed. My september is bad company 2 and wait for bf3. Got bored of gears half way through the second one and this time it doesnt look like much has changed at all.
I just hope EA dont sell out and make a game that doesnt appeal to the cod crowd but changes too much that it loses hardcore battlefield fans.
Halo is regularly regarded as one of the top FPS game series ever, which is fair enough as the first one was brilliant and the second showed how good xbox live is. But look at other great FPS games, like half life, the series started a decade ago and we still havent reached half-life 3 yet. I think MS will not take halo in a new direction because they can amrket the game so well and milk it.

My god I cant believe that site is getting bandwidth. A perfect score does not equal a perfect game. Reviewers use the perfect score to show people that the game is something to be admired and above other things in the genre. Its about how the overall experience is sublime and memorable and it means its a genre defining game. Whats the point in it picking if the overall experience is way above the competition?
