These 2 partial quotes,

“But yes it was difficult. PS4 required a total rewrite of the graphics engine because the way you need to work on the console is totally different,"

and,

“The Xbox One is much more similar to the PC because you can take advantage of the fact that they share more technologies...”

Ken hasn't dropped of the radar, he's just slipping in and out of radar like a B-2 Spirit.

The original PlayStation launched on 12/3/1994 in Tokyo, Japan. In honor of the PS's 20th anniversary, Ken attended a special event held in Tokyo on 12/3/2014: http://www.dualshockers.com... /

So be it. That's what it took for him to extract the best from the industry.

Kutaragi is not a developer, he is an engineer. Kojima is a developer, and his being "overrated" in your opinion is not relevant to my commentary.

If Sony allows cross network play with PSN… don’t be surprised.

Back in '01, Ken Kutaragi entertained the idea as part of his vision for PlayStation. An excerpt from this article: http://www.theguardian.com/...

Hmmm... ~15 years ago Ken prophesied this occurrence. An excerpt from this article: http://www.theguardian.com/...

reads:

Perhaps the most intriguing part of Kutaragi's vision for the broadband future is that it will make current excitement about the console wars, and who has what must-have game, irrelevant. "In the future, broadband w...

The last vestige of Ken Kutaragi’s over-arching broadband network vision, is on the cusp of realization.

I’m surprised that no one has lied about them asking people to go find a 2nd job to afford their tech!

I also remember IGN reporting on an interview Ken Kutaragi did with IT Media in which he supposedly said that the PS3, “was probably too cheap”, given all of its capabilities and the novelty of its tech.

Shortly thereafter, he was lambasted and derided on sites like this one as being “arrogant”, “cocky”, “Krazy”, etc.

Let’s see if Palmer Luckey gets the same treatment…I highly doubt it.

Gaming? Haha...I don't think so.

The industry had a major hissy fit when the Cell Broadband Engine hit the scene.

While I do believe that we will see PS5 and the XBO successor by 2019, I do not believe that the PS5’s chipset will come from AMD.

I have many reasons for why I believe this and I won’t go into them, but I will state that my reasons center on the exchanges between a coder--- who shall remain nameless--- and other coders on a certain site.

This coder's commentary and the contexts of his many exchanges, the people he knows within SCE, as well as the PS4 exc...

@Apocalypse Shadow:

As for your statement, “but we see last gen microsoft copying cell tech for xbox360 and going with ibm like sony did.some say microsoft stole the tech through snooping.”, it is also incorrect.

The claim by some that Microsoft stole CELL tech through snooping is invalid. Although X360’s Xenon CPU consists of 3 symmetrical PowerPC based cores that are similar to CELL’s single PowerPC based PPU core, CELL’s SPUs are fundamental to CELL ...

@Apocalypse Shadow:

Your statement,” but because of ken kutaragi being cast out because of the cost of ps3 and the r&d behind it, sony had to approach ps4 differently.”, is incorrect.

Ken was not demoted, fired or “cast out”. He stepped down and resigned. His resignation was driven by frictions between himself and other executives who ignored his constant calls to drop certain copy protections in order to improve the fortunes of Sony’s consumer electr...
