I'm sorry, but there's nothing involving rape in the scene in question. It's a dinosaur physically attacking Samus. If we're going to assign humanistic laws to an animal, then classify it as assault and/or attempted murder. But rape? Nah, you're reading too much into the scene.
Other M wasn't a very good game, and it had plenty of misogynistic moments (which is pretty much the antithesis of Metroid, since it's supposed to be about a kick-ass woman)...
JRPGs are RPGs. That's like separating Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 because Battlefield 3 is slightly more of a simulation. You're really stretching it by going into sub-genres and trying to get more specific. I could list the investigation genre and say no game next year would match L.A. Noire. I'd argue many of the genres you listed won't be better next year, either (survival horror? Did you forget about Dead Space 2 already?).
And I didn't forget ...
Like what genres? RPG is the only one I can see that may end up having a better lineup. Racers (Forza 4, Dirt 3) had a big year this year, and I don't see any puzzle games in 2012 being better than Portal 2.
And for action games, Arkham City and Infamous 2 were big this year. I'm not even aware of any big action releases next year except Ninja Gaiden III.
I doubt it. This year's going to be pretty damn hard to beat. Gears of War 3 and Uncharted 3 in the same year, tons of amazing GOTY-contending third-party games (Portal 2 and Arkham City, for instance), and tons of quality casual games, too (Dance Central 2, anyone?).
I'm really looking forward to plenty of games in 2012, but 2011 was an amazing year. Maybe the best since I've been a gamer.

At the risk of sounding like a dick, this has been known for a long, long time. And, no, it doesn't take place after the campaign's over, it's a side-story. They've revealed quite a bit about it already.

Oh goodness, can we stop with this stupid "website X hates the [PS3/360]"? That's very rarely the case, although I will admit it has happened. But com'n... use some logic here. Destroid is known for being anti-everything. It hated the Kinect, routinely criticizes the Gears of War franchise, and certainly has given both Microsoft and Sony games good scores and bad scores.

Such as? They mocked the bloody screen, the fake "realism", the out-of-place collectible system that had no impact on gameplay, the ranking of every little thing you do in multiplayer, the slow motion parts, the boring and cliched enemies, etc.

I hated the sawed off in the beta, but they've done a much better job balancing it. I really don't have much of a problem with it anymore. Most good players use the Lancer anyway -- so many newbies try to bum rush you like morons, not realizing that there's other weapons than the shotguns.

He's right. You can't force a movie's timetable on a game, because there's going to be unforeseen scheduling issues with both properties. Plus, the story of a movie is created for what works in cinema, not what works in gaming.
