Sounded like quite an expo, thar be some great games coming up. My faves from the article would be Witcher 3 and Project CARS, and they're only sounding better the more we hear :).
This review is an embarrassment to Giant Bomb - poorly written, criticising design choices that are necessary for it to work as an online racer and being 'surprised' by things that anyone following the game knew about more than 12 months ago. I guess this is what we get the kids that grew up with 'grind to level up' rather than 'learn how to play the game to compete' become gaming journalists.
It's great that Australia's getting more games shows, looking forward to the coverage :).
After the quietness that is April, May and June, it's always nice to see things start to warm up again in July through September.
Aye, sorry, it's an Australian and New Zealand site, and while there's no questioning the quality of the MLB games, it's just not that big over here. Now, if there was a cricket game releasing, that'd be another story ;).
A pretty good range of games incoming given we've just changed console generations :).
Aye, but the site is a .net.au or .net.nz domain - it's Australian and NZ by default. You don't see me posting on every US article saying that their release dates/sales figures/etc; are incorrect because they don't specify they are in the US ;).
It's an Australian site - the PS3 released in 2007 over here ;).
Because it's a discussion of the PS3's greatest exclusives :P.
Add to Tontus list:
Thief
Witcher 3
MGS V
Infamous
The Division
The Club
And that's all we know about - there's quite a few studios that will be 'due' in the last quarter of next year that are still working on unannounced projects. It is always a little quieter the first 12 months of a new generation, but it's looking really good at the moment.
I'm pretty sure the content is the same, but the PS4 will rock a higher resolution and framerates. You shouldn't miss out if you play it on PS3, but it'll be a bit prettier on PS4/XB1.
Aye, and it shows that there are about 2 million playing when 7.5 million are logged on. Still an impressive number, but makes you wonder why they're reporting the 7.5 million and not the 2 ;).
Unfortunately, this says _nothing_ about how many are gaming. I have seven Steam mates online right now, and none of the eight of us are gaming. On the other hand, if I'm on XBL or PSN, the vast majority are playing something. I have no doubt if PSN or XBL included computer log-ins to surf the internet as being online their numbers would skyrocket as well ;).
I thought we saw plenty of the console war as seen by kids in the comments section of N4G already ;).
+1 - this is tragic and sad, not funny. The number of people taking enjoyment from other people's suffering has always saddened me. So now it's tragic and sad squared :/.
Well said - the biggest thing I take from this is that there are people out there who want to spoil people's fun because of their own emotional insecurities, which is terrible. Big sympathies for anyone affected.
Gotta agree with GG here - played about 5 hours of KZ:SF online and it's sensational, best new gen FPS MP available IMO (and it works really well to boot). Single-player hasn't hooked me in yet, but it's still solid and enjoyable. The 'professional' reviewers that did a number on this really need a kick up the arse.
Rymdkapsel is deffo worth a look, a relaxing RTS-style game that's just complex enough to keep you thinking, but simple enough not to make it too hard to jump in and out of.
Totally agree - I'm going to withhold my final judgement until I've played KZ and BF (Ghosts won't get a run until sometime next year, I'm in no rush), but if history is any guide, Killzone's getting marked down for being just a little different to the larger, more mainstream shooters. Same old video games journalism - they complain of always getting the same thing over and over, then complain when someone does something different ;).
Sherlock Holmes and Shadow of Mordor for me, is a good October :).
