PSS is not in direct competition the app store/market.
it's a way for sony to be involved in publishing games on other platforms. some of those games will probably become minis, but most will probably use touchscreen features as they're designed for android and ngp. the games themselves will probably mostly be developed my those already in the mobile app/game market, but sony will provide alot more QA and marketing muscle than those game normally receive.
this IS DS2, the name is different because it's multiplatform, but it's just the next evolution of the gameplay ideas from DS.
i really hope they keep the player anonymity and lack of voice chat going.
(would microsoft allow a game to block voice and party chat?)

it's just a shame this from hacks, i'd love to check this stuff out.
modding single player games should be allowed and encouraged.
piracy should be handled by the law.
and cheating online should be squashed by sony/developers.

yes, it's japan/japanese only and is available on ps3 and xbox live gold.
the graphics and art are really good, i'll be a little dissapointed if all the levels are this block minigame.

i have it on ps3, and have played around 50 hours between single and multiplayer.
the textures and lighting in this game are VERY good!
the performance isn't great, though.
for the most part this game looks great on the ps3, and chugs along at around 25fps (which is fine to me...)

i just recently got the original tw (pc). combination of building excited for 2, and realizing amazon had it for less than $5, pushed me to get it.
only having played it in it's current patched up state, i'd say it feels like what could have been a rather excellent game, only it never got finished. it had alot of good ideas, but most were executed poorly

the graphics chip will be fast, and probably have a small portion of dedicated memory (128-256mb)

damn it square, you pulled this with ffxi too. why do you announce they'll be coming at the same time, then separate the releases by 6 months. i want this game on ps3 badly. i may cave and buy it for pc, if my laptop can run it, but i really don't want to buy it twice. this would be pretty much the only game i would try to play on my pc, atleast until diablo 3 comes out.
this article is basically incorrect. if you play a trial game (infamous) you acquire trophies, but they cannot be synced unless you purchase the game.

i personally can't stand this practice of having exclusive in-game content for pre-orders. if it changes the the gameplay in anyway, it's a bad idea, and if it doesn't (cosmetic changes) then it's not worth the effort. i really wish they'd stayed with physical incentives, figures/posters/tshirts, whatever.

it however is not anything along the lines of a full SDK.
this provides a windows or linux pc with access to the video feed, and motion data, but doesn't provide the software to really do anything to with.
i've got some ideas, but don't expect this to actually lead to many independent game applications.
