R2 is the best example of changing the formula too much.
It doesn't even feel like R1 anymore. Just a regular shooter with aliens. R1 had the errie atmosphere, the grayish colors and the health bar, and that's what made it special. But in R2 they took it all away.
I really hope they don't release too much trailers.
They should release another trailer, a PSN Demo and keep silent till march 010.
The PS2 was by far the easiest console to pirate.

God of War II had this feature and it was called "Arena of the Fates"
You coul choose the stage, along with difficulty and 3 types of monsters that will respawn over and over until you die. It would reward you with red orbs for the main single player experience.

I prefer linear games. In games too open world you get lost quickly and at some point lose intrest in the story. Games like Crysis are the perfect example of blending linear and non-linear - you have your objective and there are plenty ways you can get to it, yet the story remains the the same throughout the game.
