It's not that baffling. GamePass lets people pretty instantly click A on a game to start playing it, look at the graphics, say "whoa that's cool" and then go back to whatever multiplayer nonsense they usually play. You don't even need to download the game, you can just stream it for a sec. These numbers are a bit meaningless.

I do think being on GamePass was a major nail in HellBlade 2's coffin. Games on subscription services feel inherently valuel...

Astro Bot is the game that just did it for me. I'm gonna have to grab a PS5 again for that.

I did this for Ratchet Rift Apart too but ended up selling the PS5 after getting my plat. Rebought it on PC and other than GoW Ragnarok and Horizon FW (which eventually I could get anyway), I haven't had a reason to downgrade my graphics, controller features, ease of recording, and increase my game costs and monthly subscriptions throughout this entire generation.

Its literally a PS4 game, and likely will be able to lower settings even lower than that.

Assume low and medium settings, FSR2 Quality mode 720p, and an unstable 45fps or a stable 40fps like any other PS4 era port (Uncharted 4 for example). It'll be fine on the Deck if it's your only option

Dark Pictures Anthology games didn't exactly sell well, but they were much lower budget games that reused assets all over the place.

Its probably safe to assume that this remake - which will also presumably reuse but improve assets from the original - is a test bed to see if a high budget sequel is actually financially viable. Also brings in people who never played it when it released 9 years ago.

I'm just spit balling but it makes sense.

Though I agree with you it sucks to have to create an account - literally not a single thing that you said was true.

-You don't need real information.
-You can have any number of accounts.
-Its rare to lose a PSN account, but the game is still tied to Steam no matter how you slice it. Once you have it, your game can't be taken away by anybody but Valve.
-You won't be banned for playing a single player game with a VPN on.

It seems like Ninja Theory really were trying to tell an emotional story more than make a game - and that's totally fine. I really miss games like this.

Its nice to see Microsoft venturing into "story game" territory when they quite literally never do so. Other than maybe Lococycle.

Damn, remember Lococycle? https://youtu.be/4uHTEDDVFF...

Cheap to make and shallow are absolutely not words that describe HellBlade 2

I use my Quest 3 multiple times per week. If it comes to PC as well I'm hyped about it being a VR game but I can't imagine anybody buying a PSVR2 for - let's be honest here - this one notable game. Its clearly dead and abandoned hardware. Fingers crossed that this is either a full platformer played on a TV, a multi plat VR game, or another game showing off new features on a Sony handheld.

If it's a PSVR2 exclusive, we can say goodbye to these phenomenal game...

A small team of people slaved for so many years making a single player story game with no micro transactions or multiplayer (thank god) as a sequel to an indie passion project and y'all just roast it without playing it because it's on the XBox. The N4G hated of this game is one of the lamest and saddest things I've seen on here this generation, honestly

If HB2 was multi plat, y'all would be swooning over this game arguing about which console looks and plays ...

It's embarrassing that there's even console fanboys anymore when the "battle" between the multi billion dollar companies is so one-sided. HiFi Rush and HellBlade 2 are absolute gems no matter where you play them. So is almost everything Sony has outputted this year. Chill tf out and play games - the devs do *not* care about which company and practically-identical-in-hardw are plastic box you support. Dweebs.

You can go much farther back than that. Never forget the Kane and Lynch 2 review drama

Edit: wait that was GameSpot. Still though - don't trust these websites for anything. Find YouTubers like who's opinions you agree with and watch them instead. GaminylGames, Minimme, Digital Foundry, GMan, whatever. All better than these ad-filled "reviews" from people who are forced to play games and score with an arbitrary number

Tell that to Sony after HellDivers and I think the personified company would roll it's eyes at you. Im confident you're overestimating the number of people who double dip, buying games on PS5 and re-buying them on PC. Obviously nobody knows - but one can assume that the number is extremely tiny.
I personally waited or am waiting for Horizon, God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima to come to PC because i would rather play them there. At this point I'm waiting for a sale...

Some photorealism is much cheaper to produce than what devs are currently forced to do.
If all games could have path tracing, there would be no need for developers to manually map ambient occlusion, shadowmaps, reflection probes, etc. It's a huge undertaking that's making games cost way more to produce on account of the rather pathetic-for-2024 RT and general performance of the current gen consoles.

As much as i hate to say it, we need new consoles as soon ...

The revenue would be even higher if the games didn't launch 2 years later and could capitalize on the original launch's ads and hype.

Ghost of Tsushima came out for PC recently and I haven't heard a word about it. If it came out - say, 3 months after the PS5 version - it would sell like mad. In that sense, day and date is needed. Would be cheaper as well if PC versions were developed alongside the original games rather than outsourcing hit-or-miss port jobs late...

Ok I pray for the day that Valve bans them and then the world government bans all other stores other than Steam

To be fair, they're also a company that made Team Fortress and Counter Strike.
I have no interest in hero shooters but Valve has literally never made a game that isn't insanely good and successful - so one can assume this will be the same.

I pray for the day that Valve bans developers from forcing account linking and separate launchers for games on Steam. There's absolutely no reason for it, it often breaks Steam Deck games, it's privacy-invading, spams up your email inbox, and worst of all it's just extremely annoying.

She's kinda got the verbal communication of 3-years-ago Biden trying to say something he knows nothing about.
What she meant to say is: "We wasted our budget for the next couple years buying Call of Duty, and we're moving all our chips to that one series"

It's starting to seem quite obvious that XBox is going to be shutting down most of their studios or selling them off, then focusing on some sort of PC/Console hybrid OS for the next XBox whe...
