I'm actually quite excited about Company of Heroes 2, I really enjoyed the first game (and this is coming from a guy who isn't a big fan of strategy games).

Whoa, you're totally right. That's what I get for quickly thinking on the spot...

Certainly from an online perspective, but last year's Mortal Kombat pulled off an effective single player mode rather brilliantly imo.

I didn't have to be ultra precise with each complex move or combo, but there was just enough challenge to coerce me into learning mechanics and whatnot.

If more current fighting games (Street Fighter X Tekken included) were to follow that formula going forward, I think non-veterans like myself wouldn't feel so alie...

Great review, pretty much sums up my experience with the game as well.

Well that's a really refreshing stance on the issue.

I like the art style, has a Tim Burton feel to it. Saw a quick look of the game on Giant Bomb though and I can see why it starts to lose its appeal the more you play it.

Although Minecraft isn't exactly my cup of tea (I'm more of a Terraria guy myself), I'm definitely looking forward to Mojang's upcoming projects.

That was a fun read, though the game sounds like it'd get boring pretty quick. Seems like the hanging out with friends part is more appealing than the actual game.

Nothing worse than an entirely aimless and forgettable game.

I never was a big Halo fan, and more Reach multiplayer isn't very appealing to me.

I also want to play Peace Walker, good to hear it transitioned well onto the PS3.

That was a great read and I agree with the sentiment. One of the reasons I liked the first two Call of Duty games so much was because they felt like relatively honest portrayals of war. Now the philosophy for the series seems to be how ridiculous can we make each entry.

Great review. I enjoyed the train metaphor, works great for this kind of game. And I imagine an on-rails shooter with the PlayStation Move would be pretty fun.

Great review. Gotta love Twisted Pixel's crazy sense of humor.

That "I don't even..." section is great lol.

Capcom and Square Enix are probably the two companies that leave me scratching my head the most. I feel bad for those PR guys at Comic-Con this week.

Interesting article. But I'm someone who's downloaded a lot of games and still had no issues in that area. I guess it's one of those situations where I don't feel like it will affect me until something actually happens. I guess I just don't see these big companies like Steam going away any time soon (even though it's not impossible).

I feel like Deadly Premonition could possibly be considered a B-Game. I didn't play it myself, but it seems like a lot of people thought it was so bad that it was actually good. And from watching some of Giant Bomb's endurance run, I can see why. Has some kind of redeeming quality that's hard to pinpoint even though the mechanics don't seem very good.

Well, I'm not a big MMO fan, but I do admit that Guild Wars 2 sound like it's going to be a great game. I would not be surprised at all if it turned out to be the better game of the two.

I wouldn't mind seeing some more originality when it comes to appearance in fantasy games. At this point it seems like a lot of the stuff just looks the same. The more unique customization, the better.
