Trash talking and friendly ribbing is fine. It's part of any competitive nature, you give and take a bit. However once someone asks you to stop and you continue, that is moving into bullying territory.
Dark_Overlord, I can't reply directly again but I'll address you in this comment. In fairness I did some research about the 'gamergate' incident because I knew very little of it but came across the name when writing the article. So I will be the first to admit I'm not overly versed on the entire situation. I basically got and wrote a short rundown of the 'scandal' and told readers to look it up themselves for more details.
I believe Cyberbullyi...
I have zero political agenda, but agree with the article or not these issues do occur. Do you believe that there is no cyberbullying or griefing occurring in gaming?
There isn't much overage on them, so articles like mine are more for raising awareness. If it wasn't a harassment campaign then how would you describe it? There definitely was a harassment aspect to it regardless of the definitive definition.
I know you won't reply to this directly ...
The game went completely under the radar, I was surprised about how good it was. It had almost perfected a mechanic that developers are still struggling to get right. There was a narrative but you had complete control over what happened.
Well played haha. It does put you in a bit of a trance, I'm not ashamed to admit I still like to play Call of Duty every now and then. The Zombies section is actually quite different to the Multiplayer and requires serious thought, skills, intelligence and teamwork. I think the Zombies gamemode saves the franchise.
I agree, for me Housemarque have flown a little under the radar and never get the full credit for producing consistently high quality games (which is a tough task).
Looks like it could be a really good co-op game as well. Well made for a twin stick and doesn't seem to repetitive, which can be the main downfall for these games
Did not know that it wasn't playable on PS4. I play mine through Xbox systems so never came across that.
The zombies side of COD is actually very entertaining. Treyarch spent years dedicating teams to each map in order to make the Zombie's vibe unique, which I think they've done. So if you haven't then give it a try. I'd try one of the earlier maps as they get ridiculously complicated later on. I've gone through each map of the series so check out some of the earlier ones.
I've mainly stuck to player vs AI which is pretty good for team-work and general decency
I think he was more referring to the fact that many people (myself included) will rely on reviews as an indicator as to whether they buy the game or not. If the review comes out a week or so after the game then Bethesda miss out on boosting their pre-order numbers and people won't buy on the launch date. It may also show that they don't quite believe their game is good enough to get the high reviews.
It's one of the reasons I've been hesitant to get into Overwatch. It's been downloaded on my Xbox for several months now, just haven't gotten around to playing it.
Bethesda's whole review policy doesn't make too much sense to me. It completely removes an advertising avenue.
Always knew there was something else to Overwatch. I think you've hit the nail on the head here, great work.
Thanks, really appreciate the read. Hopefully everything remains clear as the maps become more complicated
Sounds like an interesting concept and a very simple but well thought out mechanic
Most developers now are more focused on different aspects of the game and less inclined to dedicate time or a team to split screen
Bear in mind that this was written very tongue in cheek. I'm not claiming gaming is a sport, just making an observation of how easy the two can be compared.
Online is a great addition and in many cases will always outdo Couch Co-op, for one you get the whole screen to yourself. But game nights just can't be beaten
No, I just checked incase I missed clicked and did, but you are definitely not blocked for me. Regardless of our differing opinions you actually present yourself in a decent way. I'm actually interested in hearing what you have to say and having a formal debate.
