the cell does NOT have fixed function unites like texture filtering and adressing units, rasterizer and raster operations units so it could never have been a FULL gpu.Aside from that its polygon performance isn't nearly as high as that of the rsx. Its design only allows it to assist an existing gpu. By the way please do your research next time before coming to talk smack

did you see gears 3 or crysis 2 ? no gears 2 didn't max it out gears 3 will probably do that anyway so the 360 will probably be maxed out this september.

360 was also sold at a loss. ms and sony always do that but for good reasons. nintendo on the other hand like to make profit from the start thats why they NEVER start bleeding edge look at wii u it uses 2008 graphics hardware(r700) with no usb 3 support and only 1.5 gb ram which isn't nearly enough for an 8th gen console. the wii u is a 7.5 gen console at BEST. if the leaked specs are true its only 5-6 times more powerful than ps3/360 which is NOT a generational leap because high end pcs ...
ms MAY use hd-dvd which is currently 18gb per layer(last I heard and that was in 2007) 51 tb triple layer hd dvds exist today so they may develop it further to hold even more space and use it instead of blu-ray since the tech is basically not used by anyone it will be DIRT cheap so they should be able to put a 24x drive in the next xbox.
