But, is there really high demand?

A lot of people seem to forget that resellers pounce on things like this, the Nintendo Wii U was also sold out everywhere prior to its launch and after market sales aren't very high. A great example of what is and is not high demand can be found on eBay.

If the Switch truly had high demand, the reseller prices would be higher. I can quite easily buy one on eBay for $400, which isn't that much mark up, especially w...

"There's nothing wrong with the division at all, it's a completely different game now, so much PvE to do, most of the population is back on the game. "

The keyword here is now. When The Division released it was pretty bad and it took a lot of feedback and changes to get to the point where it is today. This alone is a good reason to wait for reviews, since, no matter how good The Division or Destiny currently is, they weren't upfront. If I had a choice,...

"3DS ambassador program"

If you consider that free, then you can pretty much consider Club Nintendo "free."

One of the issues is cost/distribution. Most sites are not like IGN and simply don't have a relationship where they can request and get two or more of any game, pay someone else to do it or even find someone competent enough to do it. In several cases, simply not doing the review hurts smaller sites, since it shows the publisher/developer that they wasted a code on you and you didn't give them any coverage.

The point being, it is possible, but not really feasible. ...

To be fair, it's almost impossible to make every Plus subscriber happy every month. There are simply too many for that to happen.

I always felt it had something to do with wish fulfillment.

Ignoring girls who play things like Candy Crush, I would say running into a girl is pretty uncommon, especially in certain genre. Like I saw more playing 100~ hours playing ESO than I did in my 1,000+ playing Destiny, so a lot of men don't have a chance to interact with another girl online, much less in person.

Even if a female streamer is terrible, the fantasy is what I think sells it. The...

" so maybe I'm missing something."

If you figure it out, please tell me.

A while back I made a bunch of Enter the Gungeon videos and got a decent amount of followers (I think my subs went up by 1,000~ in a month). After a while I ran out of things I wanted to showcase and started asking people what they wanted to see. The people that commented mostly told me they wanted me to upload full runs so they could see how I go about things or to ha...

I don't even see why this matters. Sites like Exophase show them anyway.

A trial period would help, but the trial period they're offering is not really a trial as much as them admitting they really can't change for the launch online system.

While most are aware launch day online is pretty much just Bomberman and it isn't until April that we see more and the heavy hitters are Arms and to a much greater degree Splatoon 2. However, if you actually look up what we get, the trial period is just online, with voice chat being added in some ...

The funny thing is how some people, such as the writer of this article, overlook things like cause and effect.

Lets say the number of games launch with the Switch is unimportant, because, reasons. Okay, so the biggest hitter is obviously Zelda, but the difference between the Switch version and Wii U version are not so overwhelming that it releasing on the Wii U is more of a token gesture. This obviously lowers the appeal by a little bit. From there, the next biggest hitter...

I always love it when long articles relay a lot of facts or quotes, without adding an opinion, especially since the facts are not in Nintendo's favor.

As some fans, such as this writer seem to forget, Nintendo has been pissing off third parties since the N64, which released over 20 years ago and the same problems Nintendo had back then are still true today.

Nintendo seems hellbent, for whatever reason, to do things on their terms and have people floc...

"Indies have said (quoted by Michael Patcher) "the Switch is the easiest platform to developer for," which both Unreal engine 4 and Unity will play a big role for Switch. "

Regardless of this, the Nintendo eShop has the least visibility of the three, meaning sales will likely be lower. Money talks and no matter how easy it is to develop for, if they can't turn a profit, it won't matter. To put it another way, name three eShop exclusive indie titl...

I agree. The one thing I find funny is that, the more casual opinions I read, the more people are like "OMFG! I can play XYZ on the go now?!," which seems to be the real selling point. Not any of the games or the actual system itself per se, but the ability to take it on the go and play things like Zelda.

I don't know if I would call it valid.

I really hope this doesn't become the new thing to complain about. Mostly because you can say the same about a LOT of sequels over the years and it isn't suddenly a problem just because Nintendo is doing it.

"Befuddled partially because the first Splatoon didn’t really come out all that long ago"

This is another issue I simply don't get. The original released May 2015 and the sequel is set to release Summer 2017, so that is a full t...

"Irrelevant as one crucial piece of info left out is that Nintendo... launched with... entries in established franchises like AC, BF, CoD, FIFA, and Madden on top of their exclusives."

One thing I find funny with these arguments is that the Wii U, the same one many consider a disaster, started off with much better hope. At launch Assassin's Creed III, Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, CoD Black Ops II, Fifa 13, Madden 13, Mass Effect 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, NBA ...

Like I mentioned above, I like them because they give you an idea of what is and is not real. I can see who played what, how far they got and even get an idea of where their perspective came from.

Like if I said Vanquish sucked and I don't have the trophy/achievement list, then you can pretty much ignore my opinion. Likewise, if I said Demon's Souls was amazing and had the platinum, at least it shows this person knows something about what they're talking about...

"Why do people care so much about achievements?"

For me it's "credibility." Let me put it like this, there are countless people who brag about this and that. I think we've all met someone who says they did this or did that and you had the choice to either believe them or not. For instance, if I said I unlocked every character in Super Mario Maker, it comes down to whether or not you believe I accomplished the task. With trophies, if I were to tel...

Here is the thing though. Nintendo has neglected it for so long that they won't win regardless.

One of the ingenious things about the trophy/achievement system is that it has built in brand loyalty. Like, if I were to ditch the PSN for XBL, I would be going from an account that has well over 100,000 gamerscore (I have over 100 platinums alone) to an account that has maybe 0. This is no desirable, so I am more likely to stick with Sony, if only to stick where I have my s...
