It would be smarter for Microsoft to put more effort into 1st party development, to differentiate themselves, rather than trying so hard just to get games that are more associated with Playstation. In reality I think they probably need to do both, but I think they try to make too much hay of games going multi-plat - it has more to do with the industry changing (rising costs of game production) than anything special they are doing. Just seems like Microsoft plays "me too" a little to...
Don't you think maybe people are making too much of a big deal about this? Do we really expect all the Final Fantasy fans to just go buy 360s instead of PS3s? Do we think that most 360 fans like or care about Final Fantasy?
I just seems to me that Microsoft is just going for the headline here.
I have to agree. Microsoft will have to massively increase their market while Sony's will have to massively decrease in order for this to happen - the trending so far just doesn't support this claim. The 360 seems to be plateauing while the PS3 really has yet to hit their mass market appeal - which I expect they will once they get the price down to $299. I think the gap may not be as wide as last generation, but I still can't see the 360 outselling the PS3 when all is said and done with.
I think they've had several profitable quarters recently - the last 3 or 4 maybe, but yes, overall they are still billions in the red.
CoD4 has outsold Halo 3 though. Granted it's on several more platforms, but a unit sold is a unit sold.
Could be better in some respects, sure. The first one was very much like a GTA with way way cooler weapons - airstrikes! Mercenaries 2 looks like it will bring the same formula to the latest technology and I can't wait to play it.
I got one on Friday morning and so far I've been pretty impressed by the battery life. On Friday and Saturday I spent a significant amount of time playing with it, downloading and trying apps and such all while on WiFi. Under these conditions I was able to drain a lot of the battery during the course of the day, but I'm talking about really heavy use. Yesterday I used it more like I would on a regular day: a few calls, used several apps, took pictures, checked email etc. and at the end of th...
I just got mine to work like 2 seconds after I posted.
This is sadly true. What's worse is that activating at home isn't going so hot either.
Lol - nice one :)
I agree. Looked laggy overall. This controller is still pretty meh if you ask me.
Dude, chill. I know Konami made Guitar Freaks waaaay before Guitar Hero came along. Unfortunately Konami never realized that if they licensed hit rock music in place of j-pop they could have had a massive hit outside of Japan.
Regardless, all I said was that Rock Band > DDR which is true. For realz.
You think i'm "mouthing off on a konami based on your own stereotypes" (whatever the hell that means) - why don't you take a gander at my avatar before &quo...
By "violates patents" they mean "is better than DDR" right?
Dang - I already beat it on 360, but I bet I'm going to want the trophies. Great game all you PS3 only folks should pick it up for sure.
Word is that they've reduced iPhone 3G shipments to Canadian Apple stores over this Rogers nonsense. Good luck, neighbors to the north. I hope they sort this out for your sakes.
I have a Samsung Sync w/ 3G that I only have to charge every other day if I hardly use it :)
In all seriousness the iPhone is more like a pocket computer than a cell phone so charging it every day shouldn't bother anyone. If I could just charge my laptop at night I'd be ecstatic.
I think it was Mossberg who said he got a little more than 4 hours 30 minutes of talk on 3G with the new iPhone - I really don't think that's anything to complain about. I don't know how I'...
I would challenge you to actually price compare a few different Macs against comparably equipped competitors. I think if you do you'll find that the prices tend to be a lot more similar than you'd think - sometimes the Mac is actually less expensive. There are plenty of articles out there on this topic - like this one:
My friend set up his Grandparents brand new, reasonably spec'd (exceeds all minimum requirements) HP with Vista for them. He turned off everything you can turn off and it can't even run solitaire properly. Move a window and it jerks across the screen. Vista - totally pared down - is eating like 800 megs of RAM. That's just ludicrous for main-stream computer users.
To me it seems like a big announcement and that's pretty much it. Are Final Fantasy gamers going to throw away their Playstations? Are 360 owners going to start caring about JRPGs? Just seems like they want to try to take the wind out of Sony's sails, but at the end of the day I don't see Final Fantasy as a great fit for the 360 - I think it will do better on PS3, I can see it moving hardware for Sony, but I can't say the same for Microsoft.
