I actually liked the heavy rain beginning just adjusting to this new control scheme through daily wake up routine. And it makes for a nice contrast between the gorgeous house, and the ugly one you are set up with later.

With how realistic the graphics were and how tight the gameplay was, I would totally dig a starvation style health system. Players just scavenge around in this wasteland trying to find places that can actually still grow food and shit.
At least they seem to base their on what they actually like and think rather than, hey a polished game with great graphics 8/10+ EVERYTIME
