September 9th, 1995. Being one of the first in line to buy a PSone and bringing it home and playing it. It was an amazing experience to play a 3D game and technology was nothing like it is today. Cell phones weren't even that relevant.
I am very familiar with the environments. I have taken the I-5 from Nor Cal through So. Cal and they have done a phoenemonal job of recreating California. It's not a perfect recreation but it looks amazing.
Sales don't matter to the average gamers. The core gamers may care but most don't. In the reflection of life it's nothing. Just another thing for people to compete over.
In general I think competition is good because it forces improvements you wouldn't get.
It was a much better market when you had several football games to choose from. It always seemed like an exciting event when you could choose from several very good NFL games. Although I am impressed with this Madden. They have made it more fun and not as difficult as earlier iterations.
I was reading up on them mentioning the cordyceps fungus and found this...

It could be where naughty dog has got some of their ideas for the game. It really is a creative change from the zombie games that seem to have the same story.
It must be tough being honest. Why not just steal? Because hacking is no different than being a thief and a criminal.
You don't get in this business because you dislike games. Obviously for these developers it's a passion to do what they do. For most it's really not a war.
Who is this guy? Nothing more than a Microsoft shill probably paid by Microsoft as they have been proven to do. If you consider yourself a gamer and think the kinect is great for gamers you are sorely mistaken.
Destructoid is like the National Enquirer of Video game websites. It has it's place but should not be included on Metacritic since they have a history of doing just the opposite in their reviews.
I sort of have already. Keeping my PS3 running so my B-Spec driver can compete in some of the endurance races.
Rashid I really hope you have better responses if you are publishing stories. You should learn some journalistic professionalism and learn to accept fair criticism.
I am very impressed with GT5. It has been a long time since I have played a game like this. It's not perfect but it is excellent. I am level 30 and slowly working through the endurance races. Many of the races are easy and I do with they had difficulty levels for those who wanted something a bit more difficult. The GT Formula Championship is one of the hardest series of races I have ever experienced.
I think you are very correct Silly. There have been very few games that have a strong emotional impact on me like so many games of past generations. Mainly when it comes to a great RPG that many can talk about certain points of the game that make you think. As great as games like Uncharted are they are really only blurring the lines between movies and games. I can only hope that in the near future we see more games like those of the past.
I don't necessarily see the problem with waiting on reviews. Not to say they are necessarily accurate all the time but as a gamer I have always enjoyed reviews. Back in the day's of Gamepro and EGM being the only review sources. Games are by no means cheap and I think it's important that people make a decision they won't regret. I have no doubt but many games in past gens I have regretted because not making an informed decision.
I think the difference between the cars has become an excuse by those trying to criticize this game. Having the variety is actually very nice and makes the game that much better. I have always loved the car collecting aspect and being able to actually take cars and try them out. GT5 is by far my favorite GT game to date.
Mechanical damage is what happens to your vehicles ability to race as well as it did when you first got it. I have had to do engine overhauls several times on vehicles I have crashed several times and it is the most costly thing that can happen. Not only that but also fixing structural damage that can be very costly. Just to get the vehicle to run like it did when it was new. It is very real in both A-Spec and B-Spec.
Maximus there is some truth to that but not like you say it. Microsoft spends millions in newspaper advertising and I am sure spends a lot on advertising in the NY Times. Although I don't think they would be afraid of offending anyone with an article like this.
Pikes Peak and the Seattle Circuit are the most memorable for me. I would love to see more tracks in the future and if they could somehow integrate them into A spec and B spec to extend the game that would be great.
If people still enjoy the games it shouldn't matter. Although it would be nice if Nintendo took some chances and worked on creating new franchises. Mario is timeless just like Mickey Mouse and I'm sure 25 years from now children will still be playing Mario games. I would just like to see Nintendo invent something new. You know they have the creative minds to do it. So maybe in the next few years with the launch of a new system they will launch a new franchise.
Why both? Do you guys have that much time you can devote yourself to that many games? I just don't know how anyone who has that type of money has that type of time to play games all the time.
