I switched to a Mac after experiencing Vista for a good week. It was horrible. I will NEVER go back to it. Now, with my Mac and VMWare fusion, I have Mac OS X on my Apple Cinema Display on the left, and Windows 7 running on the MacBook display on the right. It's great.
Apple's profit margin is 35%. Sony loses money per console. Microsoft used to, as well.

I own an iPod, iPhone and Mac because of the revolutionarily software on it. But 3rd parties just won't allow the same time of software to exist on just 1 platform, and consumers won't be willing to pay Apple's high profit margins.
This is about getting anyone on the fence regarding whether or not they should buy a PC now or wait for Windows 7. Microsoft would rather see your money now, than later.
You do know that the beta was open for 2.5M people, right? Assuming Windows 7 is $200(and it'll be more or less, depending on the SKU), thats $500M lost.

They'd see that the iPhone's graphics performance is higher than the DS and PSP. Play a game like Ferrari GT on the iPhone and you'll understand what the hype is around. Don't just assume that the PSP and DS are better.

Microsoft can easily buy Yahoo, they just don't want the entire corporation. The only thing they need is the search engine, and Microsoft is poised to take over soon...
They could've easily paid off 51% of the shareholders and take over, but they decided not to.
