"DO YOU THINK WE ARE STUPIDS?"
This is the most ironic thing I've read today.
And it needs no introduction. 50 CENT: BLOOD ON THE SAND
Ahh who am I shïttin' it's all about that Killzone.
The hype is ballooning with the beginning of the positive reviews. Much like GTA 4 and the like, the overhyping starts with the media, and is simply carried by fanboys. I don't know why that garbage Haze was ever hyped, but its hype was never near the level of MGS, Halo, GTA, BioShock and the like (games that held straight 10s).
Having said that I think this article is really just off-base. Besides, having played the beta, the game is not undeserving of this hype either. Fanboys...
Older HDTVs exist which can only do 1080i and not 720p.
However I've never seen a 1080p set that does not do 720p.
720p is the best resolution for this game. I'm glad to see they changed the resolution for 1080 upscaling, but it is still best to play in 720p. All this article is saying is that you won't notice the awkward scaling many other games give when forced into 1080p mode (upscaling from odd resolutions).
Hmm, it seems Patrick Shaw wrote this article for GamePro, and just now PC Advisor.

My god...what's next, reviewing games 3 years after release? I look forward to the Gears of War 1 reviews this year.
The comments suggest that, under different editors, you'd be looking at a 9-10 score. This is perhaps just a stricter magazine/editor.
Either way, the comments are overwhelmingly positive.
Well they certainly took their sweet time with this review.
Some people enjoy these types of games. Some people don't. Some people are in denial.
I love 'em. If you do too, click on the 3rd title and go to Event CG. That one has the whole ballpark. Too bad these rarely/never get translated.
The 1911 is actually Big Boss's weapon of choice, not Solid's. ;)
Solid's is the Socom.
Admittedly the only game I did play on the list is Valkyria. Valkyria is amazing, though. Favourite game of 2008 tied w/ MGS4.
Why is this amazing?
I play as female characters all the time. It's not like all these players go around telling everyone they themselves are chicks.
Although I shouldn't be saying this (as a 4870 X2 owner), right now it is of better value. It is cheaper (at least in Canada) and benches higher. On paper though, the 4870 X2 is a stronger card, but Nvidia usually has better developer support and with their current drivers the card is performing the best. The 4870 X2 will become significantly better once a driver update to allow quick-swapping between both GPUs is released (currently it accesses 2 separate pockets of 1GB GDDR5 memory rather t...
That's about $200 USD. Not a bad price at all.
1.5 GB may seem like a lot but it is only DDR2.
Phenom II 920 is fairly priced and now available. Getting it most likely
When are the Phenom IIs releasing?
Depending on how they're priced compared to the current X4's, I'll consider them. Otherwise I'll just stick with the 9950.
The irony is that you did indeed bother to comment.
"I HATE UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENES GRR..."
*shows picture of a game with skippable cutscenes as the prime example*
That is one good editor right there. Come to think of it, I hate games where you can't walk and shoot at the same time -- like Call of Duty.
PS3, 360, PC, all great in my book.
I just am not a Wii fan. I don't think I could ever like or recommend one.
