Its actually because some wireless technologies operate on the same frequency as microwaves 2.4 ghz ( microwaves use sound waves to cook stuff) so if you use your microwave near your wireless router it can infact disrupt your signal, go try it out. Also Xbox controller use 2.4 ghz fyi
