STARWARS BATTLEFRONT 3: Same Old Crap, or Huge Success

Alright I am writing this because, in PS3 magazine, It said work may have begun on Star Wars Battlefront 3. I already knew it was coming, but I didn’t know that. Naturally curious being a fan of the battlefronts, I did some poking around. I found out that Lucas Arts had struck a deal of some sort with Free Radical. Makers of, “Time Splitters”. Plus that Battlefront is said to make it to X-Box 360 by late September (I’m not making any promises)

Also I am sure people will buy the game, and once again don’t say I was wrong when everybody does. The thing could be the biggest peice of wasted memory and people would still buy it.  I just don’t know if it will be any better than the last two. The following paragraphs will list all the reasons this game might not, be any better, or worse.
Alright, the first shot at the game they did a pretty good job on the whole thing and it was a huge success. The second shot wasn’t really a big improvement. In fact from what I’ve seen most people seem to like the first one better. Not many cool new features. The only really noticeable ones were the ability to be a Jedi and Space Battles. Smaller features were some new characters, and new weapons. Some bad new features to the second battlefront were: less flying vehicles in ground wars and less entertaining courses. Like the spire for example, all the people I know don’t like it nearly as much. Graphics and Audio stayed pretty much exact. Even though there was no to many improvements made from the first to second game you’ll find it hard to blame Lucas Arts for this. In the first game they revolutionized the gaming industry and made a ton of money. The game idea and type are nearly impossible to improve. Now they will have to come up with new cool features to add. If you don’t know what I mean by this let me explain. Since the battlefront games are based on StarWars they can only have courses that were battle scenes in the movies. So they take the all the best of the two games courses. Witch is perfected by most people opinion, and then they have to improve them. Unless of course, they try to fill in the huge gap in between the 3rd and 4th movies. Making new battlefield witch to, do they would need to be under George Lucas’s direct super vision to get that Star Wars feel to it. Especially so, with Free Radical. The newbie (Free Radical) might find this a little more challenging then they thought. The other problem they might run into is improving the game play it’s self. You probably don’t understand that either. You see in a normal franchise with story mode the producers could just make a new evil guy to destroy every game. While in battlefront that Star Wars theme pops up again preventing them from being able to do that. Meaning that those who buy the game are playing the exact same thing as they did in the first two. So they have to make the levels from the first and second game more fun. This is game play I’m talking about here. If anyone can come up with a way to do this send me a pm. Even if they manage to overcome all of these near impossible tasks there is a possibility that the battlefronts will be out of date. With all sorts of online multiplayer modes, the idea of just playing with computer bots. Some may disagree and say that the concept will never be put away. I hope there rite, but with online climbing so quickly who knows what new feats it will hit. Sure they’ll make some sort of online play though it will probably be kind of plain if you get my drift. Bottom line is the battlefronts won’t be able to compete with this same old concept moving so slowly. (The extra producers might help though) My point is that I’m predicting that if the producers don’t improve the battlefront concept greatly in this game… People are just going to be buying the same old crap with a 3 added to the end of the title and a catchy new logo. They’ll start to realize too.

Special thanks to: PS3 Magazine for fist awareness, www.mygen.com for release date for X-Box 360, and another of my informants who requested for his name not to be mentioned for the bargain struck with Lucas Arts and Free Radical. (Witch I also found to be on www.mygen.com )

Review - Ruffy and the Riverside (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Ruffy and the Riverside is a joyful little game with a really inventive gameplay loop. It mixes elements from open world adventures, logic-based puzzles, and the level structure of classic 3D collectathons to create something that is truly unique, whilst still being accessible, and not at all condescending. It also helps that its visuals are great, and its sense of humor is completely on point. Even if I had one or two (very small) issues with some of its aspects, it was nothing that would turn the game into a dealbreaker. It’s just a fantastic indie game that is absolutely worth your time, no matter the kind of game you’re into. An even better deal if you grab it on a portable, considering how perfect its gameplay structure is when enjoyed in small sessions."
