Kingdom Hearts III: The Possible Worlds

I'm fairly certain that this article has been done before on here, but I really and so desperately want to talk about this. With anticipation growing for Kingdom Hearts III, gamers are sharing their opinions on this final installment. What is also discussed constantly is how big this game is going to be. It's the final game in the series, but what else could be added to it aside from the main story and worlds we know? I would like to share the worlds and ideas I think would be great additions to this huge finale, but I would also like to hear from you guys.

Before I get into the specifics, I want it known that I am going to do a Kingdom Hearts edition of Beginning, Impact, and Future. The reason why I'm more so eager to talk about possibilities of the game is that I saw a video on Youtube sharing what a Kingdom Hearts battle theme would be like for Frozen. The link is just below this paragraph. Given the fact that I cannot seem to get the song "Let It Go" from Frozen out of my head and it led me to seeing this video, it gave me the idea to share my opinions on the potential certain worlds in Kingdom Hearts III could have. So, without further ado, let's get started with potential new worlds in Kingdom Hearts III!

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

World One: Frozen

Fair warning, spoilers inbound! I have seen Frozen a couple times, but seeing this movie for how it is shows how important and impactful it was. Anna and Elsa are strong characters and the world they live in offers potential for unique enemies. Think about having a boss fight with the giant snow monster (Marshmallow) Elsa creates in the movie or discovering Prince Hans' plans for Arendelle and he has an invasion of Heartless set up for Sora, Donald, and Goofy to stop them from getting to Elsa.

The advantage Frozen has to be a world is that it is a recent movie. It would not be difficult to have the resources available already to produce the world nor would it be difficult to get the voice actors back. In regards to how the movie matches up with party members, I think Sora would have Donald and Goofy as party members primarily. It would be nice to have Elsa as an offensive magic user given her powers, but she is very formidable and possibly to the point of being too powerful; however, I am all for a segment where Elsa is an assisting party member (like Hercules in KH2) to aid Sora and company against waves of Heartless. Either way, I think traveling the snowbound Arendelle while encountering unique new Heartless will be a treat for anyone who enjoyed Frozen and continues to equally enjoy Kingdom Hearts.

A quick side note if everyone remembers: Maleficent and Pete have been seeking allies to help them in their goals for claiming Kingdom Hearts and ruling all worlds. An army is nothing without its leaders and with Master Xehanort making his moves, these two need allies. Maleficent and Pete could have a partnership with Prince Hans as they would undoubtedly know of his true intentions for Arendelle. Interactions between Hans and Maleficent would most certainly be insightful.

World Two: Tangled

I saw Tangled when it first arrived in theaters and I admit that I love this movie. It was a unique take on the tale of Rapunzel and the characters are very likable. I think that the strength that the movie has going for it is that the environment and story offers the potential for being a great choice for a new world. Also, I believe that Mother Gothel would be a different kind of ally for Maleficent.

Mother Gothel can be that one Disney villain whose power comes not from magic or strength, but her deception and cunning. Gothel is able to manipulate others with the right words and could even be quite the spy. For the boss fights, I can see the Stabbington Brothers being a good dual battle and Gothel using her control over the Heartless to aid her in her boss fight as she attacks with her knife under a cloak of darkness. As for party members, I could see Flynn being an eligible candidate as he has some capabilities with a sword. I would very much enjoy seeing Tangled in the Kingdom Hearts universe.

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

World Three: The Princess and the Frog

Need I say more? Well, actually that would help, huh? I know this particular movie may have its share of detractors, but I really think it can be a great world to venture through. Not only do we get that New Orleans backdrop, but we also get Dr. Facilier (a.k.a. The Shadow Man).

Really, the selling point for me on The Princess and the Frog being in Kingdom Hearts III is Dr. Facilier, the possible battles you encounter because of its heavy supernatural elements, and the setting. I don't think there should be a frog transformation in the gameplay for our main party members as Lion King has already done that. Instead, with the story surrounding Tiana and Naveen being victims of Facilier's spell and trying to find a cure, it would be better if the story for their world focused on that and the party taking on Facilier's "friends on the other side" while defending Tiana and Naveen. I think that Facilier's sorcery and voodoo powers will make for an epic boss battle and earning him a spot on Maleficent's cadre of villains.

World Four: Gargoyles

I have been saying this since Kingdom Hearts II. We need to have Gargoyles in Kingdom Hearts! It is too awesome of a Disney license to not use! Please tell me you agree with me on this. The movie and the television series were fantastic. It's dark, serious, grim, and action packed. Imagine having Goliath in your party! How awesome would that be?!

Also, can we talk about David Xanatos and Demona? Even though the story for the world would most likely be that of the movie, the challenges and battles with these two would be intense. Xanatos would have his technology, while Demona relies on her ruthless aggression. As for their potential alliance with Maleficent, I would certainly see it as possible. Xanatos was always fascinated by the supernatural, so teaming up with a sorceress would be a dream come true. So, yeah. Gargoyles. Make it happen!

World Five: Robin Hood

Arguably, I would say that Robin Hood is the most overlooked choice out of my nominations. I'm surprised it hasn't been used sooner. The film was released in late 1973 and is one of Disney's most financially successful films. The setting also offers great ideas for it to exist in Kingdom Hearts.

Robin Hood would naturally be available as a party member, you would face the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John in their own respective boss battles, and enemy types could resemble knights and unique creatures. Maleficent and Pete could show up and aid the Sheriff and Prince John to do away with Robin Hood and maintain control over the world. Heck, there can even be a segment where you officially join up as one of Robin Hood's Merry Men by proving yourself. It does go without saying that Robin Hood is one of my favorite Disney animated films.

World Six: Monsters, Inc.

Okay, now we are getting into Pixar territory. I know, finally right? Well, I often hear about how Toy Story should be a world, but I just can't agree with that one given the rules that the original movie sets up. Don't get me wrong! I love Toy Story! If it's in the same spirit as Winnie the Pooh, then maybe it could work. However, I never hear anyone make a case for Monsters, Inc. It is a completely reasonable nomination given its background in two worlds existing that are accessible through doorways.

Sulley would most likely be a party member. Randall Boggs and Henry Waternoose would be two separate boss battles that have their own gameplay presentations and executions. Randall can disguise himself and do hit and run tactics given his speed. Waternoose has his brutish strength and claws that can make him a very imposing adversary. Also, think about the potential Heartless enemies that can spawn around the company. I think going to the world of monsters would make for an interesting addition. We also can't forget the possibility of Pete poking his nose around there, too.

World Seven: The Incredibles

I'm going to say this one thing before anything else and this will make your imagination run wild. Sora, Donald, and Goofy have their own superhuman costumes when traveling in this world. Are you sold on this idea yet? Maybe? Well, if not, then maybe the rest of my explanation will help.

Although ambitious to have The Incredibles be in Kingdom Hearts, the potential is too great to ignore. I think that being able to fight Syndrome with Mr. Incredible in your party would be fantastic, but the superhero element can be a wonderful thing to add here. Let's face it, having a Marvel world would be too much of a hassle as there would be licensing issues and the fact that Marvel is too big of a universe to narrow down to a simple world in an already expansive game. The same would go for Star Wars with the same issues already presented. The Incredibles is already focused enough to be adapted into its own world in Kingdom Hearts, while supporting a possible alliance between Syndrome and Maleficent.

So, those are my most wanted worlds for Kingdom Hearts III. What did you guys think? Agree with my suggestions? Feel like I left some other movies or licenses out? I want to leave an open discussion for Kingdom Hearts fans of what you think would be amazing worlds to go to. Include party members, too! Until then, stay tuned for my next blog installment where I will share my thoughts on ideas that I feel will make Kingdom Hearts III epic!

FogLight3822d ago (Edited 3822d ago )

Where the hell is Treasure Planet?! >:(

Joking, and I would approve if I could to be honest but I can't... so I will just say that I agree with those worlds, but I don't know about The Princess and the Frog. They made Beauty and Beast so that is possible but still...

Frozen, The Incredibles, Treasure Planet, and Monsters, Inc. are must have worlds in KH3 as I would thoroughly enjoy exploring them.

Once again, hope this will get approved soon :)

EXVirtual3820d ago

Thank you!
If I have to go to Agrabah one more time without being able to go to Treasure Planet or Monsters Inc, I swear, I'm going to go super saiyan on every single heartless in Agrabah.

HonestDragon3820d ago

Okay, now I finally have time to comment, lol. Now, I actually forgot about Treasure Planet. I had just seen it recently...two years ago. Yeah, I didn't know it existed until my friend told me about it. It's one of those Disney films that rarely is ever mentioned.

Do I think it would be a good world? I think it could work. They would have to bring up John Silver's change of conscience after a good boss fight with him, though. Otherwise, it just wouldn't seem reminiscent of the movie. By the way, think of any fight against Hans, Syndrome, John Silver, and Waternoose with this theme. Epic right?

Relientk773822d ago

Dude Gargoyles is awesome, loved that cartoon as a kid. I just seriously doubt it'll be used. :-/

HonestDragon3820d ago

Gargoyles is awesome. But as much as I love the license...I know it's a long shot for it to be featured in Kingdom Hearts III. The worlds I nominated up top are worlds I think would shake things up. Gargoyles being featured would be my wish for the last game.

Mirage7493821d ago

No Wreck-It Ralph? I thought that would be a perfect world for Kingdom Hearts!

DEATHxTHExKIDx3821d ago

I fully agree with The Incredibles since it's my favorite pixar movie. However I rlly want treasure planet. Frozen I can just see that happening. Gargoyles would be very kool. However I've never seen tangled or princess and the frog.

imtheman20133821d ago

The Incredibles is so good! I will forever be upset that The Incredibles ended on the perfect note to make a sequel and they never capitalized on it... -_-

DEATHxTHExKIDx3821d ago

Incredibles 2 is happening tho. Also it got a video game that dealt with the villain at the end of the first movie.

http://variety.com/2014/fil...

imtheman20133821d ago

:O When did this happen?!

Anyway, it might be happening now, but what on Earth took them so long?! They make Cars, the worst Pixar movie ever, and then they almost immediately make a sequel to it --which is worse than the original! Now they're planning a third Cars... but oh well. As long as The Incredibles 2 is amazing, I'll be happy.

HonestDragon3820d ago

Boy, Treasure Planet sure is a popular choice. Yes, I hope that we will see The Incredibles in Kingdom Hearts III. It would be amazing. I highly recommend seeing Tangled and The Princess and the Frog when you get the chance. I think you'll like them.

@imtheman2013

Yep, sequel for The Incredibles inbound. And a third movie for Cars...apparently? Cars was a hit and miss for me. Not one of Pixar's best works, but it's an okay distraction.

no_more_heroes3820d ago

The most interesting ones to me look like Gargoyles, The Incredibles and maybe Frozen, though I've yet to see that movie.

Palworld is better, but Nintendo has$$$$ They can fight it all they want, but will absolutely lose. It is a blatant Pokemon rip off. I do wish them luck though.

Weren't the wire models used in palworld ripped out of Pokemon in the end?

Silent Hill 2 Will Be a PS5 Exclusive Until Oct. 8, 2025, So Don't Expect an Xbox Version Until Then

Silent Hill 2 remake will be exclusive to the PS5 until October 8, 2025, so don't expect an Xbox port or announcement it expires.

darthv7211h ago

why does it feel like we are living in the early 00's again? Sony paying for either full exclusivity or timed was the thing back in the day... and its been 'remastered' for this generation.

raWfodog4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

The original SH2 was PS2-exclusive for only a few months. Remastered version is exclusive for over a year lol.

But both companies played the timed exclusives game for so long so it’s no surprise.

rlow13h ago

Sony is the king of paying for exclusives. Anytime Xbox does it Sony fans go berserk. But when the shoes on the other foot they flop like a fish out of water.

raWfodog2h ago

@rlow

Stop acting like one camp is better than the other. Both sides have rabid fans that go crazy over silly stuff. Many gamers have common sense and are even-keeled. Which category do you fall into?

Profchaos2h ago

Two fold publishers look at the loss in sales due to exclusivity and given how little Xbox sells in general Sony's generally able to get a greenlight for this behaviour if they fund it.

Microsoft think buying punishers is acceptable but they dug a huge financial hole as a result

Nintendo is just Nintendo and don't care

VersusDMC2h ago

Oh Nintendo didn't pay for timed exclusivity for Monster Hunter Rise, SMTV, octopath, etc...? As usual it's
only a "behaviour" for Sony.

Chevalier2h ago

Yeah it's not like Xbox paid for exclusivity for games like Ark 2, Stalker 2, Warhammer Darktide or anything like that right? Oh wait.....

Einhander19723h ago

Just because that's the announced end doesn't guarantee it will be coming to xbox at that point or ever to be honest.

And even if it does it'll be an inferior version without the haptics and the Tempest audio which I expect will be a huge part in setting the mood in a game like this.

Obscure_Observer1h ago

"Just because that's the announced end doesn't guarantee it will be coming to xbox at that point or ever to be honest."

Whatever makes you sleep at night. Silent Hill will be release on both PC and PS5 and yet Konami made sure and let everyone know that their game is a timed-exclusive to Playstation. The Switch 2 and it´s PS4-level hardware won´t be able to handle it, so yeah, it´s definitely coming to Xbox.

"And even if it does it'll be an inferior version without the haptics and the Tempest audio which I expect will be a huge part in setting the mood in a game like this."

Who cares for Tempest when we have Dolby Atmos? And haptics? Please. There isn´t a single haptics implementation for games that comes near to Astrobot´s.

So yeah, I´m cool getting the best definitive version on Xbox Series X.

Knushwood Butt1h ago

'Who cares for Tempest when we have Dolby Atmos? And haptics? Please. There isn´t a single haptics implementation for games that comes near to Astrobot´s.'.

Have you played Returnal?

Sonic18811h ago(Edited 1h ago)

So yeah, I´m cool getting the best definitive version on Xbox Series X.

You mean PC and PS5 Pro. The Series S will prevent it from being the definitive version 😂

Quesosz1h ago

Just like PS5 pro got the inferior version of Alan wake.

$800 for 800p 😬💀

Quesosz1h ago

Also PS5 is the inferior version of SH2

PC will wipe the floor with PS5

Obscure_Observer42m ago

@Sonic1881

"You mean PC and PS5 Pro. The Series S will prevent it from being the definitive version 😂"

We´ll see. The S is not preventing S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 from being excellent on Xbox Series X running at 60fps according to DF, despite the fact that it can barely handle that game a stable 30fps at the moment.

@Knushwood Butt

"Have you played Returnal?"

No. Why? It´s better than Astrobot?

enough time to optimize for Xbox Series S

Microsoft Reportedly Spends $1 Billion Annually To Get Third-Party Games On Game Pass

Good.

Now that you´re releasing games and making big money from every gaming platform, you should double that amount and give us even more day one third party games!

Jin_Sakai8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

You’re delusional beyond belief. Businesses wise it doesn’t make sense and sooner or later they’ll be raising prices again to cover that billion they’re blowing every year.

outsider162448m ago

Lucky for xbox that papa microsoft is rich.

purple1018h ago(Edited 8h ago)

As someone else said earlier today, they are past the growth stage, it’s been stagnent for last 3 years, they are now in the money making stage, prepare to be goosed for as many dollars as possible for the least amount of content. It may not be bad now, (actually it is) but it will be soon (even worse) this year you got hellblade and starfirld and a load of other games that could be bought in bargain bins for about $5-30 and for that you pay them monthly

To add I honestly don’t know how you put up with the barrage of Xbox negativity (which is deserved). I put it down to:

A) you are being paid
B) you may have a problem thinking clearly
C) prefer rooting for the underdog, that’s a legit thing too. English people do it by default

Profchaos3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

Yeah Aussies also love an underdog as long as that underdog isn't Xbox as they were too of the game with the 360 then lost their minds

Chevalier2h ago

3 straight years of missing Gamepass targets. Some people are just blinded by their own idiocy. Will be interesting to see if COD does anything this fall

It’s quite funny.

Popsicle2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

Yet people still allow the troll to derail an entire topic. I don’t understand how moderation allows it.

I literally just skip the comment. This may be the best comment obscure ever made. I don’t know because I didn’t read it. I have read to many thread derailing post from this person to ever devote any time to reading another.

I wish everyone would ignore the trolls so we can have a genuine discussion. Stop feeding it and it will go away. Even just hitting the disagree button feeds it. Thats what it wants. This is the last post I will ever post about obscure because I am feeding them now.

Legit question to Mods. After such a long history of being a troll, how has this poster not been banned?

Sonic18814h ago(Edited 4h ago)

Are you insane? You want them to double the amount when the Xbox is already struggling and losing money 🤔

Hofstaderman3h ago

Correction....XBOX is already dead.

Obscure_Observer1h ago

"Are you insane? You want them to double the amount when the Xbox is already struggling and losing money"

As long we get the games I couldn´t care less about a trillion dollar company losing money. That´s their business to worry about. I only care about the games.

And "struggling and losing money"? Really?

"Microsoft reports Xbox’s revenue is up 61% in Q4 FY24 thanks to Activision"

https://venturebeat.com/gam...

61% more revenue and BO6 is not even out yet.

MS will make a sh!t ton of money with that game alone in all platforms. So 2 Billion yearly invested in their *core* business is nothing!

So yeah, I want them to double the investments on Gamepass. Period.

Sonic18811h ago(Edited 1h ago)

"So yeah, I want them to double the investments on Gamepass. Period."

That ain't going to happen. Just because you want it 😂

fr0sty3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

They'll do that, after creating 4 more higher-priced tiers and making the one that currently includes everything only contain games that have been on the market for 4 years.

"Gamepass Ultra to the MAX: Now only $299 per year!"

Profchaos3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

They are trying to get a return on abk and Bethesda they won't double day one we're lucky we are still getting them now that day one has been removed from base tiers

They want to make money not give it away

MrDead8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

I like how they twist cannibalising game sales into "invests".

No lifetime sales with MS, they'll F-up gaming the same as streaming services have done to the movie industry and it's workforce.

Fishy Fingers6h ago(Edited 6h ago)

Out of interest do you think those 3rd parties signing the deal are unhappy with the severence and have a gun to their head?

Bro probably has a PS+ sub and has library full of Epic launcher free games.

TheNamelessOne48m ago

lol

Pretty much. There's a lot of hate on this site for Gamepass, but put games on the different tiers of the PS subscription, and whenever they get that free day one release, it's an entirely different tune. No talk about how this choice is killing devs.

DivineHand1252h ago

There are pros and cons to everything. Streaming services like Netflix is no different than cable tv except it is on demand. Services like Netflix has made it so that more studios can get a share in the profit where they can reach more consumers worldwide compared to the old days where the masses will only watch a few new titles per month.

The only negative about streaming services is that it no longer makes any sense to sell DVDs and Blu-rays though it can be argued that those persons may have moved on to building digital libraries for the sake of convenience.

The reason Xbox is doing so poorly is because they are not doing enough to be competitive. Their output of AA and AAA exclusive titles are extremely low compared to the competition and they haven't had a game of the year nominee in years.

Releasing their games the same date on PC is also hurting their console and it would have been more strategic for them to delay those releases by a year similar to what Sony does to maximize profits.

Gamepass alone is not to blame for Xbox's current position because it can be argued that if the service didn't exist and they had the same gaming output as they have now, they would be in an even worst spot.
