Can Nintendo Save The Wii U? If So, How.

So yes we all know pretty damn well that the Wii U is not in a hot place right now. Yet we have to ask ourselves some questions here. Why is the Wii U selling really bad at the moment, i mean they had a year head start out the gate and hardly has nothing to show for it.

Okay so we know that at the games are not entirely there. Ports and delay after delay. The Casual audience is gone or well mostly gone. The hardware is outdated, the price is still a little to high and lastly the advertising is not there.

So now with that said and done. What can Nintendo do to get this system to sell. Well for starters Nintendo needs to advertise the crap out of this system like there's no tomorrow. That's a given, now what about the games? Well this is a tough notch to understand. While yes Nintendo pretty much showed to the core audience that the Wii U has the games (doesn't matter if those games are on last gen consoles or not) it's the point of them saying "Hey guy's, we are not ignoring you anymore" yet it still seems the core audience just doesn't care or even blink an eye at the Wii U.

So if Nintendo can't convince the core audience to come aboard what does that leave Nintendo with? Well Nintendo fans like myself will buy the system for there amazing 1st party games but what about the casual audience. The Wii was a huge success from that audience alone but it wasn't enough for them to hold on for all to long with the release of Iphone and tablet games.

Yet the question remains, how can Nintendo get that crowd back. They can't from the looks of it or this could be due to lack of Advertising. Yet if the advertising was there and still sold just as bad. Nintendo is pretty much screwed, unless they make deals with 3rd parties to get exclusive titles on there platform. Which can easily happen and perhaps that is something they plan on doing seeing how its going right now. Yet will that save the Wii U? I could but highly doubtful.

Nintendo very will may need to bit the bullet for a generation and listen to the core audience and make a powerful system that can easily be a better choice over the PS5 or Xbone 2 (whatever they name there systems when that next gen comes out 7 years from now). Even if they do this, I myself as a gamer would not care if they do this or not as i do now with the Wii U. I love having two different types of systems to enjoy my gaming experience on. Yet i cannot speak for all the core gamer's out there. Yet perhaps we will have to see what happens.

In the comments below, what do you think Nintendo should do in order to get the Wii U to sell better then it is now. The whole going 3rd party aspect isn't going to happen but I'm speaking about the console perspective here.

“Last month we added our first Activision Blizzard title, Diablo 4, to our Game Pass service,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says during the company’s latest earnings call. “Subscribers played over 10 million hours within the first 10 days, making it one of our biggest first-party Game Pass launches ever.”

Sarah Bond announced this a few weeks back. That's the gamepass effect I suppose.
