Whyy Wii? More and More Nintendo Wii Games With Standard Controls

Okay, so, I’ve got this gimmicky thing called a Wii. Yeah it’s fun, if you like bowling, tennis, or four player party games. Why did I buy the Wii you ask? That’s simple. It’s a ‘revolutionary’ console. The motion sensing controls can’t be done anywhere else (and don’t even say, “oh, but the six axis”, no). I’d be willing to bet that’s why all those grandparents have been picking these things up too. The controls are completely unique to the Wii. So, you ask, what’s the issue? Well, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but a number of new games, including first party Nintendo titles, are coming out and supporting old control methods. Standard, traditional, Nintendo Gamecube style, control methods. Let’s see, there’s the insanely anticipated Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Supports not only traditional NES style sideways controlling, but even the Gamecube controller, which, if I remember correctly, most people didn’t like in the first place. Newest of the games  supporting all style of control is Mario Kart Wii. While this game will support the Wii motion sensing control method, it will also support every other control possible.
Why is this bad? In a way it is good, you can play the game anyway you want. However, why did I even buy a Wii? I could still be playing these games on my Gamecube. Seriously, the graphics aren’t improving dramatically, if at all. The online support is yet to be really integrated. The Mii’s are fun for only so long. Third-party support has yet to really show much promise. So, all you really have that sets the Wii apart from the rest are the unique controls. Tell me I’m wrong.
Seeing as how games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band are so successful. Why Wii? I could have just as easily bought a peripheral or a steering wheel of some sort for my Gamecube.
Boom!

It's called options and seeing that the Wii has 4 ports for GC controlers why not. Zack & Wiki, Batalion Wars, along with the fun light gun games, combination of standard and motion sensing games all have a place. Along with traditional playing of games. Not every single game should be forced to use motion just like not every single game should be forced to have multiplayer and online components.

By your rant you are apparently not a fan of the Wii so why bother? You start off calling it a gimick on your first sentence. Yeah that'll get Wii owners to consider your opinion...

what is wrong with more options on control schemes?

"However, why did I even buy a Wii? I could still be playing these games on my Gamecube."

have fun playing the upcoming games on your GCN XD

Pure exclusive? Isn’t it a timed exclusive though?

pwnmaster30001d 1h ago (Edited 1d 1h ago )

I don’t think there has been confirmation it’s going to any other console yet but most likely it will like the first one.

If not then atleast a PC release.

It's what I was thinking anyway, the first game eventually came to other consoles so this one will aswell.

Also lets be honest, it's not like the PS5 has many other "pure" exclusives these days so it's a pretty low bar.

Babadook723m ago(Edited 22m ago)

Good catch. Why are they saying it's a pure exclusive here? I'd just say it's the 6th best console exclusive on PS5.

Astro Bot – 94
God of War: Ragnarok – 94 (Also on PC)
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – 92 (Also on PC)
Demon’s Souls – 92
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – 90 (Also on PC)
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – 90

Do we have a ETA on when its coming to any other platform? Yes the 1st came to other platforms but how long did that take? So for next 12-18 months the only place where someone can play this is PS5

After that it will be available on Pc and than maybe 3 years down the road on Xbox. And that's if MS offers Kojima some sort of deal. Some of you are acting like timed exclusives have existed before this game and that Sony is the one funding the cost 💯%. Sony would have gotten it in writing that this game will remain PS5 exclusive for a time period than PC and years down the road on Xbox like the 1st games

So yes in year 2025 and until end of 2016 DS2 is a PS5 exclusive and you are welcomed to wait. (coming from someone with a Pc so I will wait but I don't like this questionable behavior
