Oooh Ubisoft plus . We are all just lining up for it

Army_of_Darkness459d ago

With Ubisoft you will get the division, Far Cry, Assassin's Creed, Raymond, Far Cry, Assassin's Creed and the division, then repeat. Do I really need a subscription for this?

jznrpg459d ago (Edited 459d ago )

I got most of those games “free”or for a couple dollars

blackblades459d ago

Sounds like a meh list of games I dont play anymore. Ubisoft needs a reboot.

closed_account458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

Rayman or Raymond? Jade Raymond doing house visits now? That may get a few more subscribers...oh wait, she's not with Ubisoft anymore. 😂

VersusDMC459d ago

50 + of those games are included with ps extra and i haven't touched any of them...good luck charging 15 a month like on PC. It will most likely be EA play price of 5 a month.

VenomUK458d ago

Just wait for the Microsoft buyout and all these games will be included free with Game Pass.

Ra3030458d ago

Ubisoft Plus isn't included in Game Pass? WTF.....That's crazy. ...I was hoping to see Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Summit Strike on the list. I would have pulled my Series S outta the closet and turned it on for that but I guess its not to be. That's to bad Summit Strike and Ghost Recon Final Assault were great games.

RedDevils459d ago

all of their games are shit anyway.

lelo2play458d ago

€14.99 per month. The price tag is absurd...
Ubisoft! You're drunk, go home.

Rude-ro458d ago

Yeah, but according to said gaming community… their subscriptions come with free games😂😂

Stanjara459d ago

You buy on sale: AC black flag, Rayman, FC3 and South Park and you don't need this 15euro a month subscription.

jznrpg459d ago (Edited 459d ago )

Exactly . Why pay for a sub when these games are super cheap used or even digital on flash sales etc . Ubisoft is synonymous with bargain bin

blackblades459d ago (Edited 459d ago )

Division was like $2 at one point or $1 on ps4 awhile back. Skipped it cause I know I wasnt gonna play it just like all the other ubisoft games.

S2Killinit458d ago

Because soon all these publishers will pull all physical version of their games so that you have to buy subscriptions.

The writing was on the wall but some people here wanted a win for xbox so bad that they cheered MS on the whole time they pushed the industry toward services. Soon, we will all pay the price. 15/month for Ubisoft, etc.

Chris12458d ago

S2killinit - in your constant hate for Xbox you once again forget MS didn't invent subscription services on consoles. They also aren't the market leader and can't push the industry anywhere. If the console you clearly worship has a subscription service that is entirely their own commercial decision and makes them the same as everyone else.

S2Killinit456d ago

I assure they can and are.

Secondly, my hate? Bro, with what they are doing, do you seriously blame me? Come on, they are ruining gaming. They are literally shrinking the gaming space. Why dont they create studios instead of cannabalizing the industry? Its fu&ked. Its not like my criticism is misplaced. This conduct is going to cause a frenzy. All these games we all used to enjoy are going to be placed behind different paywalls…

Maybe look at yourself for a second and ask if following them to hells end is wise.

Stanjara458d ago

S2killint - don't worry about it. Just buy what you like and what you think deserves your money and time. We will always be able to buy individual games cause that's the best way publisher makes money.

I would actually buy Hi Fi Rush to support it rather than paying GP and support all bad gaming decisions in there like Crackdown, 343, Fallout 76 (idk what's all in there...)

I also didn't buy TLOU2, Forspoken and Forbidden Ubisoft Chest and don't need ps premium or extra crap.

Goosejuice459d ago

Isn't this also coming to ps5? Not that it matters really

Julion0715459d ago

So why ask it? To discredit Xbox right?

Goosejuice459d ago (Edited 459d ago )

No, more it's only tagged on xbox. More of a dig at ubisoft as I don't see anyone paying for this unless it's included in gamepass like ea play

ModsDoBetter459d ago

@Julian - it doesn’t always have to be PS Vs Xbox, you know.

I think it’s a fair question to ask if a service is coming to someone’s desired platform because, as @Goose has stated, they thought it was coming to Sony platforms as well; however, this article is only tagged with Xbox, potentially causing confusion, so I don’t feel there’s any need to jump down someone’s throat simply for asking a question for clarification.

1Victor458d ago

@ Julio “So why ask it? To discredit Xbox right? “
Relax take a deep breath and a sip of lavender tea no sugar or milk.
Not everyone is trying to attack your favorite console I myself I’m curious about that as well just for the knowledge sake 🤷🏿

jznrpg459d ago (Edited 459d ago )

@Juluon0715 you seem a bit sensitive . Seems like an honest question
But PS Nintendo Xbox doesn’t matter . Most of Ubis games have been bargain bin for a long time and a sub service is for the uninformed .

Hofstaderman459d ago (Edited 459d ago )

Very sensitive, a certain console only runs on subscriptions, if you try to insert a disc it gives a read error. If you try to play a recently released AAA game it gives a disc is not recognised error.

Eidolon459d ago (Edited 459d ago )

I thought PS+ Extra or Premium came with Ubisoft+, Game Pass went with EA Play.

rippermcrip458d ago

No, it came with a lot of Ubisoft "Classics" (and then like Valhalla). But Ubisoft+ includes basically everything including new releases. Now PS+ tier has all Ubisoft+ included.

Gamer75459d ago

Perhaps the reason why it only tagged Xbox is because the article is from an Xbox centric site

MrNinosan458d ago

It's been "free" on PS5 with PS+ Extra since last summer

Petebloodyonion458d ago

You don't have Ubisoft+ on PS Extra what you have is Ubisoft collection classic.

MrNinosan458d ago

@Petebloodyonion
True which includes almost exactly the same games as the list shown here.
So name i whatever, it's the same games.

ModsDoBetter459d ago

Looks good but will be something I’d only use if I knew I had some free time coming up, subscribe for a month and blitz a few of their better titles before unsubscribing until new offerings are added.

The fact this costs more than both GamePass & PS Plus Extra is ridiculous considering both the quality and number of titles offered.

Julion0715459d ago

He asked a question I asked a question. He said not that it matters but it has to matter to question it and pay the article that doesn’t matter attention.

jznrpg459d ago

Maybe it just matters that smallest amount that he asked it and then didn’t care

I wonder who the nut jobs are that will get this. Seriously Ubisoft isn't worth a sub and having this along side ps+ y'all must be rich.

BeHunted63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

Disclaimer: It's always cheaper purchasing the entire Ubisoft Game Edition when they're on sale.

OtterX63d ago

Exactly. Ubisoft prices plummet soo fast and hit some incredible lows. I probably wouldn't own every Assassin's Creed game if it weren't for the dirt cheap sales they hit.

jznrpg63d ago

This service is for the severely uninformed. These games are in bargain bin why rent them monthly?

Profchaos63d ago

Exactly you can pickup most of their backlog for 5 bucks a pop with change I've seen some older titles go for as little as $1 like watch dogs

PS5’s lack of Ubisoft+ Premium is both frustrating and confusing

Ubisoft has revamped its Ubisoft+ subscription service, but Sony needs to get in on its Premium tier for PS5 as Xbox continues to boast better day-one access.

shinoff2183115d ago

Why, do people really want this. 17.99 lol ubisoft slow down. Should be 10 at most

fr0sty114d ago

They want WAY more than PS+ Premium costs, and this site is trying to spin it as if PS fans are missing out by not getting ripped off by Ubisoft...

Jin_Sakai114d ago

Yea I’d rather not have 15 different subscription services.

Christopher114d ago

10 years from now: Why doesn't PS7 have all 10 options for game subscriptions services? Why is it still focusing on selling games!?

fr0sty113d ago (Edited 113d ago )

I think the game subscription service bubble will have popped by then, just like it's popping right now for movie and show subscription services. It's evolving the exact same way... A couple services pop up that offer it all, the content providers start getting greedy and decide to launch their own services and begin pulling content from the original services to make it exclusive to their own, people get sick of having to have 10 different subs pulling $100 a month out of their accounts, and it all goes belly up.

shadowT115d ago

17.99 per month only for Ubisoft games..

TwoPicklesGood115d ago

Not sure why it’s not on PS but hopefully that changes. The more options the better.

Zeke68114d ago

The less subscriptions in my life the better in my opinion.

Mr Logic114d ago

It existing as an option does not force you to subscribe.

Zeke68114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

@Mr Logic
I know :) I just meant I dislike the fact that "they" shove tv, movie, game and whatnot-subscriptions down our throats. The endresult for me and my wife at least, is that we start to avoid them altogether.
So in the long run these companies actually loose money on us. I just wish more people would boycott it so we can get rid of 90% of the crap ones out there. (subscriptions that is) :)

Mr Logic114d ago

@ Zeke
I get where you're coming from. Besides PS+ and Prime (for the shipping) I haven't had any subscription for 5+ years.

GamingSinceForever114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

Why you got downvoted is beyond comprehension.

ModsDoBetter114d ago

N4G - the hive mind see it as a negative light on Papa PlayStation when @Two said they're not sure why it's not on PS. Anything that can be taken even as slight criticism is downvoted by the drones.

MrNinosan114d ago

It's enough with the free package we get with Ubisoft.
Would never pay 18$/month for this, that's way more than I pay for PS+ Premium.

The new Ubisoft+ and getting gamers comfortable with not owning their games

Ubisoft has rebranded its subscription offering and introduced a new service for PC players. 'more to come' on Activision Blizzard

Nyxus116d ago

"Gamers are used to owning their games. That's the consumer shift that needs to happen"

:(

ravens52114d ago

Lol. I don't understand how people still want an all digital future, those are the people ok with not owning "their" games. "Convenient " Just get up and switch the disc 🙄. My BG3 copy comes Q2 2024. I don't "own" Alan Wake 2, and have no plans to until its released as a physical copy. Smdh.

CobraKai114d ago

Literally everything they blasted MS for when they revealed the Xbox One is not only coming true, but lovingly welcomed.

Escamotage114d ago

You seemed to be confused between the debate of owning physical versus owning digital games, and the debate of subscribing to versus owning a game. These are two separate issues.

I will say there is a misconception on the physical vs. digital debate which is that own a physical disc is just owning an install disc. You're still installing the actual game into your hard drive just like owning it digitally.

jjb1981114d ago

I totally would rather have physical discs but the problem nowadays is that a lot of games are not finished. Several have gamebreaking bugs that could stall your progress late in a game. So these games need a Day 1 patch or several patches to remedy the issues. I wouldn't care much to play vanilla Cyberpunk from a disc if I could no longer receive patches. The problem is with games being rushed out the door with "Gone Gold" status.

Ps5conehead114d ago

I have disability’s I have great internet. I like digital it is easier to do with my disabilities . Everyone is different. If you like physical disk that’s fine others like me like not changing disk. I have never been not able to redownload are stream any game I paid for

Bobertt114d ago

It's mostly lazy and dumb people I see supporting digital games. I could understand if the digital versions were at least discounted since they cost less to make but they aren't so there is no good reason to get the digital version when the physical is available.

ravens52113d ago

Escamotage, at least you get theres not only a code on the disc lol. Im not confused in the least though digital is digital, whether its subscription based or your buying your games from a digital store front. You dont own them. They undid it, but point in case is the removal of the Discovery Channel videos from customers. Its entirely possible for them to take your digital purchases. They'd have to physically come to my home and take my games. If the internet is ever tampered with I can play any of my games. A lot of hypotheticals but its possible.

fr0sty114d ago

I'm comfortable with never giving Ubisoft a penny again.

Shane Kim114d ago

Same. I mean what kind of statement is that? Gamers need to unite against this bs.

dumahim114d ago

Same. It's been about 2 years now. Don't see any reason to change that now.

jeromeface114d ago

Gamers are uniting alright, and filling up these corperate pockets. I tried to start a crusade when they introduced horse armor dlc that was only useful for making fancy screenshots but I digress. Now every game has a battlepass, its sickening.

Redgrave114d ago

Publishers need to start feeling comfortable with having their games pirated.

Oh, you didn't like that one? Hmmm....

CobraKai113d ago

Dang. 3 Ubisoft employees disagree with you

Barlos114d ago

I mean how DARE people want to own something they spend their hard earned money on, despicable behaviour!

CobraKai114d ago

It’s what companies want so they get a steady stream of income. Screw that. Imma stop gaming if everything is streaming, digital, cloud. Playing my retro machines are perfectly fine for me.

Bobertt114d ago

Ubisoft should get comfortable with going out of business.

Leeroyw114d ago

Just look at the drop in quality from other subscription media. They push out content to fill quotas now. Not to make a memorable film or TV show. I worry this will be the future for gaming. Vote with your wallets.

Christopher116d ago

$18/month is a big cost for people who can get most of the older catalogue for cheap as heck.

OtterX114d ago

Right? And if I've learned anything is to not buy their games at launch, ever, because they plummet in price faster than any other major 3rd party studio that I can think of.

JackBNimble114d ago

Ubi isn't good enough for me to ever consider a service from them. And know that their plan is "you'll own nothing " further hardens my stance.

Maybe if they made good games but they don't and I'm sure not paying more then the cost of psplus. Infact I canceled extra when the raised the price 30%

jjb1981114d ago

Ubisoft knows it and that's probably why they include it in Game Pass and PS Premium.

GotGame818113d ago

No, it isn't included with PS+ or GP. EA play is included with GP only. UBI is a standalone subscription.

jjb1981113d ago

@GotGame818 I can literally play the Ubisoft classics with my PS Plus subscription. There's a section for it.

gold_drake116d ago

its a sad estimate that nothing you pay for is actually yours these days.

hard pass.

Vits116d ago

Ubisoft is a somewhat odd company to offer a subscription service since their games don't retain value. Typically, within a month or two, you can find them at significantly lower prices. Therefore, including new releases and DLC in the subscription is essentially their only method to justify the subscription cost and give it some semblance of value.

shinoff2183116d ago

The time of year they usually release they can be had on black friday sales everywhere. For half the price.

Shikoku114d ago

They don't retain value because they are cookie cutter reskins of the same game mechanics over and over in every game.
