Earlier this month, Sony released the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 and PS5 Digital Editions . A new PlayStation VR headset will take a while, in the meantime Sony has made the PS5 compatible with the existing PSVR headset of the PS4. Koei Tecmo has revealed that Rise of the Ronin has gotten off to a solid start, with sales of the Team NINJA-developed PS5 already eclipsing the Nioh franchise.
Speaking in its latest financial report, the publisher revealed that “sales are surpassing the Nioh series” and noted that it has “high valuation by players.” No sales figures were divulged during the report, but clearly Rise of the Ronin is performing well just over a month since launch.
But I thought Rise Of The Ronin was a failure because it was an exclusive?
Gee wizz this is strange. It's outperforming the "Nioh" series in sales. I thought it was all doom and gloom on the sales front. I mean the Nioh series were considered a 'sales success' in the past. So how can this be with Ronin? /s

Shahmeer from eXputer: "I've always wondered whether the success of Hogwarts Legacy had much to do with nostalgia. The RPG is great but certainly not free of issues."
I still haven’t finished it, mostly due to it not holding my interest after 20 hours. Wouldn’t say it’s a bad game, wouldn’t say it’s amazing I really can’t judge it fully due to not completing it.

Sony themselves have acknowledged that they would not give up on VR despite the product still being niche but it will take a while before we see something new on that front.

For my part my favorites PSVR games are
1) Resident Evil 7 (the reason I bought PSVR in the 1st place)
2) Wipeout Omega collection
3 Astro Bot Rescue Mission
4) Rush Until Dawn
5) Beat Sabers
Day 1 buy for me. I hope it’s wireless
Sony steady moving gaming forward.
Can’t wait to replace my original PSVR. Astro Bot and Blood and truth were great games but the whole system was let down so badly by Sony’s incompetence to provide a proper VR controller. The whole system feels too dated now. I’d really like some PS4-ps5 VR updates when PSVR2 comes along November 2021. Got a massive collection of games but it makes me feel so sick when I play it. Hopefully a smoother experience will make that easier.
