An open letter for THQ. From a gamer to gamers…
First of all, THQ doesn't pay me, neither my girlfriend is Brian Farrell's daughter.
If he has one… Unless you' ve been leaving under a rock you heard that THQ is in deep sh*t. THQ, one of the largest publishers in the world, is threatened with removal from the stock exchange Nasdaq. In view of the crisis and given the liquidation followed in most stock markets worldwide, the American company has become a victim of its shareholders. 2011 was a bad year for THQ, releasing Red Faction: Armageddon and uDraw tablet, which however did not fare so well in sales. The company was also forced to close several internal programming companies to reduce the loss.
THQ's last card maybe the upcoming Darksiders 2. Personally i will buy this title. The reason is simple. I want to help this developer/publisher to restore its power. I haven't played the original Darksiders yet, but i will buy Darksiders 2.
I can understand that this may sound silly and immature to the most of you but this how i want to act.
I love gaming, i love this industry and i believe that if THQ shut down, this will be one of the biggest hits under the belt for our industry. I would like to ask our fellow gamers to take a look at Darksiders 2 and hopefully the other games that will come out fromTHQ in the next year. THQ needs us right now. THQ needs the support of gamers right now. I can understand that many other games are coming out this year and the next one, multiplatform titles like Assassin's Creed 3, Resident Evil 6, Tomb Raider, GTA V, Bioshock: Infinite, Crysis 3, Black Ops 2 and many exclusives like Halo 4 and God of War: Ascension and many more unannounced projects that will blow us away, all i ask is to find a place to our collection for Darksiders 2, a key title for the future of THQ. I want to say again, I'm not fan of Darksiders, i haven't played the original game yet, but i' ve heard good critics about the game, and even better critics for it's upcoming sequel. And personally i prefer to save money for D2 and buy a Certainly Successful title like GTA V a month later than witness the loss of THQ. i'm sure we will not regret for spending some of our money to THQ. We all have bought titles that didn't meet our expectations at all. But Darksiders 2 looks it has potential.
I wish the best to THQ and i hope we (gamers) will help this developer / publisher with our own way.
Game on guys 😉
From a gamer…
