THQ boss Danny Bilson has revealed that South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone personally chose Obsidian to develop the South Park RPG before THQ was even brought in to publish the game.
VGI writers Ahmed Ali, Decal Skews and Wesley Copeland give you their thoughts on what games to keep an eye out for in 2012.
In an exclusive interview with RipTen, Executive Vice President of Core Games, Danny Bilson, talks Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium, Darksiders II and South Park RPG.
We also discussed the layoffs at Vigil and Relic and how Darksiders II may not ship on June 26 as planned. Also, South Park RPG may not arrive in 2012.
Well that confirms South Park will never ship. Should have gotten anyone other than Obsidian on it...
if there gonna release why not just do download release instead of retail same themselves some cost
Well who ever thought making Udraw for ps3 and 360 was a good idea basicly killed the company.
Can't stand when these corporate people talk about layoffs. It's your blatant BS that caused it. Least accept your bonus loving pals, have caused the damage. Common sense could tell that THQ wouldn't last long. Not going they way they were.
From the PlanetXbox360.com feature list:
"Leave it to Bethesda and BioWare to re-energize the role-playing genre with Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Mass Effect 3, respectively. Both created a whirlwind of press and consumer hype that caught the eyes of many publishers and developers to start development of their own RPG franchises. Today, we explore several key RPGs for 2012 that hope to see players switch over from the two gigantic stalwarts from Bethesda and BioWare. From licensed titles to sequels from already established, and well-known, RPG series, 2012 is a brilliant year for fans of Western-RPGs."
They forgot Ni no Kuni, the Tales games, and a few others that escape me at the moment.
Why would you personally pick a team that has a track record of not finishing their projects, riding the coattails of more successful developers, and producing inferior sequels?
I expect this rpg to be one big technical mess
