Lost Planet 3 Takes the Series Back to Its Icy Roots, Coming in Early 2013

The next Lost Planet game takes players back to the extreme conditions of E.D.N. III to battle the unforgiving environment of a frozen planet and its equally unforgiving fauna, the insectoid alien species known as the Akrid.

Lost Planet 3 is a prequel to the original game and currently in development at a Western studio, publisher Capcom announced at its Captivate event last week. Capcom has tapped Spark Unlimited (Call of Duty: Finest Hour, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty) to handle the heavy lifting on Lost Planet 3, which is part third-person shooter, part first-person mech action game.

Lost Planet 3 Hell Yes!!!! and its looks to be more of a story driven game. Hope it has multiplayer like the last two games!!! Lost Planet was also one of the best multiplayer out there. Still to this day people are playing Lost Planet 1 and 2 multiplayer. The Akrid modes were great too.

thumbed down because of multiplayer talk.

Ha 9 disagrees for speaking the truth. I guess the truth is always unpopular, but its true just look at the online community for these games. All you haters will play this game anyway.

A game that goes back to its roots by changing everything about the game. seems legit

HeavenlySnipes4424d ago

The IP always had potential. Its just that Crapcom never gave the game a real protagonist and a proper backstory. I wanted a more proven dev to get this, but all Spark Unlimited need to do is create a proper story and get the mech and ground combat right and we have a surprise big game

Not sure why people like it when a game is outsourced to another developer, especially Lost Planet.

Resident Evil 1 Remake To Have Slower Pace; Will Further Expand On The Game's Lore

Many details for the upcoming rumored Resident Evil 1 remake have already leaked online. Capcom appears to have huge ambitions for it.

XiNatsuDragnel2d ago

Sounds interesting I'll be interested in the second remake of re1

Cacabunga2d ago

They game cube remake was mind blowing.. another remake would be nice but i was really hoping for Code Veronica first

-Foxtrot2d ago

If it's true they are probably leading up to RE5 with the Chris vs Wesker story

RE1, CV and then RE5

Terry_B2d ago

Their REmake is still one of the best 3 video game remakes ever made.

Cacabunga2d ago

Terry

Zero was not a remake but an amazing game as well. I hope they remake that one one day with some coop play.. great great game

maelstromb2d ago

The whole Lisa Trevor side-story was an incredible addition and really fleshed out more of the lore. It could have easily felt tacked on to artificially extend the length of the game, but it felt 'right' like it should have been in there from the beginning. I'm hoping they include that in the Re-remake.

Yui_Suzumiya2d ago

Code Veronica definitely needs it the most!

Cant wait until they cut the basement section and replace it with something worse.

Becuzisaid2d ago

While I want another modern remake of 1, I think code Veronica should be first. The first re1 remake holds up amazingly well. Give CV it's due.

As long as the Crimson Heads are back.

Nerdmaster2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

I hope they don't. They were created mainly to justify Wesker not really dying, and they do create more tension, but they don't make much sense.
Re-reviving things that were twice dead? Why would the virus stop there and not keep reviving them forever (until the head gets destroyed)?
And also the characters knowing that destroying their heads keep them from becoming crimson heads, while having a combat knife and lots of heavy objects around to do it while they're down, but having to rely on lucky shots or burning them with oil?
They can create other stuff that serves the same purpose of creating tension but that makes more sense.

Come on State of Play already!!!
