2008's Most Anticipated: RE5, Killzone 2, MGS4, Fallout 3 & GTA4

Take a peek into the near future and discover the Top 10 most anticipated games of 2008.

"Fallout 3 offers more depth than Oblivion and all of it's expansions combined" :)
Hopefully not only it's true but the game ends up as complex and ingaging as the original Fallout 1 & 2 and doesn't go the rather watered down and simplified way of Oblivion and most of recent RPGs.

Overall, solid list but I'd have used Ninja Gaiden 2 and Little Big Planet instead of Left 4 Dead and Dead Space.

masterg6386d ago

Not a bad list. Had a couple of games on it that I didn't even know about. But to me LittleBigPlanet is one of the biggest of the all.
A real error not to have that one on.

power of Green 6386d ago (Edited 6386d ago )

Dead Space
Fallout 3

??? Hmmm.

Weak list.

EDIT: G4 covered tons of Left for Dead 4 gameplay and had many interviews with the devs. Most know next to nothing about the games I mentioned.

This Top Ten list isn't even big enough to cover the scores of games that people are looking forward to, in some cases more than a few on this list including left for Dead 4.

Fresh6386d ago

Left 4 Dead higher than FFXIII?weak!

MK_Red6386d ago (Edited 6386d ago )

Wow, you really think Fallout 3 shouldn't be on the list? Wow. Guess some really don't want to see great games.
I also guess you didn't know that EVERY major site and magazine nominated Fallout 3 for best game of last E3 in presense of all other heavy hitters of 2007 and 2008.

HarryEtTubMan6386d ago

Bro Little Big Planet and Espeically Fallout 3 deserve to be on there before Left for dead and Dead Space....NG2 also.

Watkins6386d ago (Edited 6386d ago )

Wow. You actually haven't played the fallout series I'm guessing, big mistake. Best game I ever played. Something special about the atmosphere and the dark humor in those games. Simply unmatched.
I doubt Bethesda can recreate it all, especially those two things. But I'm hoping they'll copy a lot of things that were in the first two games. I'd love to see the vaults return, the greenish armor sets and the stray dogs on the streets.

MK_Red6386d ago

Bubbles for you Watkins and agreed with everything you said. Fallout is THE best IMO too :)
As for Bethesda, they definitly won't be able to reach greatness of Fallout 1 & 2 but they can indeed copy a lot of stuff so they can at least make a good western RPG and hopefully, an actually deep one unlike their recent games.

prowiew6386d ago

Fallout 3 may turn out to be a great game (and is one of my 2008 want game), but they have show almost nothing about this game.

lots of games on that list that ima pick up

4 versions of ff13? i never heard that before, thats crazy, i only knew of ff13 and ff13 versus, and i dont even know what the difference between them is

power of Green 6386d ago

I think FFXIII is kind of like a Japanese Orange Box, I thought the game(s) are made of of only three?.

I would take these off the list: Dead Space...Killzone 2.. Left for Dead 4, Fallout.

heyheyhey6386d ago

4??? that doesnt sound right- its supposed to be 3: ff13, ff versus 13 and ff agito 13 (mobile phone game) anyway i would like to say WTF is left 4 dead doing there? it looks like such a generic game

MK i agree with you LBP is going to be great i just saw a gameplay demo and its got me addicted before i have even played it lol- the physics are absolutely awesome

Give us FO3 with all the dlc remastered like ESO. Load times faster, quality of life improvements, gun play improvements

I believe it shouldn't just be graphical they should make improvements where they can to make the game better. A simple face lift isn't what's needed

ZeekQuattro66d ago

Still my favorite one. I remember getting a digital copy of FO3 when I got FO4(XBO). It was nice to finally play a stable version of the game. Then when I got a Series S it was an even better expierence. Quick resume and FPS boost made it feel like a whole new game. Updated gunplay would be very welcome though. One of the few things FO4 did better.

New Vegas and Morrowind should have been first!

Christopher74d ago

Fairly certain we all know that New Vegas isn't getting anything because it's not a Bethesda developed game.

OMGitzThatGuy74d ago

MS owns both devs, if they want it, a 3rd party will make it.

Christopher73d ago

***MS owns both devs, if they want it, a 3rd party will make it. ***

I think the issue is that it's not a Bethesda developed game, not that MS owns both. This is more about Todd.

RaidenBlack73d ago (Edited 73d ago )

Yep ... Todd doesn't like getting bettered within his own IP scope.
I still think of the Elder Scrolls spin-off Obsidian pitched similar to New Vegas, but Todd rejected.

RaidenBlack73d ago (Edited 73d ago )

Replayed NV more than FO3 ... so I appreciate the FO3 remaster more.
For NV, I'd much prefer a sequel or a spinoff from Obsidian.

FTLmaster74d ago

Got a soft spot for Fallout 3, so I'd be down to play this.

-Foxtrot74d ago

It's crazy New Vegas wasn't worked on first to launch alongside Fallout Season 2.

They could have added all the cut content they had planned but didn't have enough development time to add, possibly even expand on it a little more. For example, have the Vegas strip as one big hub over being chopped into smaller sections we have to keep loading into.

neutralgamer199273d ago

Would love a complete remake or sequel with enough resources

Abnor_Mal74d ago

The only Fallout game I’ve played, PS3 had to keep stopping every few minutes to save. Next thing I knew the credits were rolling and I never did any side quest. I never replayed the game because of all the bugs the game had.

Yui_Suzumiya73d ago (Edited 73d ago )

I've played Fallout 3 more than any game. I lost count many years ago of how many times I finished it. It was my first Platinum trophy. But yeah, it was buggy on PS3 at launch before it got properly patched.

anast74d ago

They are only remaking their games that have been streamlined.
