Wasn't the first homefront just one of a many string of failures that contributed to THQ's financial disaster?

And crysis 2 didn't really sell that well for crytek who like to make a few, but very heavily funded and invested, AAA projects that try to compete in the most crowded market of them all where they only just recently found out that wide appeal does not equal sales?

Doesn't take a genius to realize now would be a good time to sell stock in crytek. It's like finding out Lindsay Lohan is gonna be looking after Michael Jackson's drug stash.

Mikefizzled4474d ago

No If any fingers are being pointed uDraw was $100m loss alone.

Tachyon_Nova4473d ago

Why would now be a good time to sell stock? CryEngine is just now starting to gain some market penetration, it will soon be mobile and web browser native, they have a close connection with Microsoft, they are launching they're own gaming social network, they're large array of studios are now starting to pump out games with at least 2 games this year and a new announcement coming in the next few weeks plus another already announced game, and they've still never made a game that wasn't highly rated.

What there suggests you should sell stock in Crytek. Oh, and the company is fully owned by the three Yerli brothers, so literally nobody has "stock" in Crytek except the founders.

TBH Homefronts singleplayer was alright but the only thing that kept me playing was its multiplayer, plus the graphics looked a little outdated. But know that crytek is working on the IP and using it with cryengine? i cant wait to see what its gonna be like

I'm sure Crytek can make it pretty... the first Homefront was horrendous to look at. The background series of events that led to the plot is really interesting, just too bad the story they came up with wasn't very good. The newspapers scattered around were cool and interesting to read, but the actual in game story sucked. I hope they really make it what the series could be, which is great. They need to work on the weapons too. Homefront has a lot of potential, but needs a lot of polish to get me to come back for a second round.

Looks like this is Crytek UK(Free Radical) working on the game. I really wish LucasArts gave them back Star Wars Battlefront 3 and worked on it instead of Homefront. Oh well, as a studio they have something to prove, so I expect them to make a decent game.

NYC_Gamer4474d ago

I'm not buying another game from Crytek until they work on better gameplay/story telling

Baka-akaB4474d ago (Edited 4474d ago )

Precisely , the only way i've been impressed with Crytek so far , was graphics . Farcry is their only truly great title imo .

Not going to trust them to do great gameplay and good storyline , till proven otherwise

Pandamobile4474d ago

Crysis was an amazing game.

Baka-akaB4474d ago (Edited 4474d ago )

well obviously i dont think and believe so . It was awesome eyecandy with a meh game , and is even worse in the second game . I dont expect to change my mind , nor will yours

XIIIWARRIOR414474d ago

Homefront was a fun game. The only problem on my end was the lag.

BattleTorn4474d ago

The first week was unplayable. But it came around.

x8004474d ago (Edited 4474d ago )

crytek is one of the best developers out there and for anyone doubting them they are wrong.

btw its not cryteks main team making this game its Free Radical Design which made TimeSplitters and are now called crytek

Crytek Gives Brief Update on New Crysis Game; Studio Has a "Great Team" Working on It

Crytek gives an update on their new Crysis game, confirming that it's still in development, with more to share down the road.

DefenderOfDoom2194d ago

Actually would love a new Crysis campaign.

P_Bomb194d ago

Ditto. Ran through them again last year. I’ll grab the new one.

Crazyglues194d ago (Edited 194d ago )

Yeah they really messed up by not adding the Multi-player to the Crysis Triogly because while the campaign was fun I really loved the Multi-player and couldn't wait to see what it was going to be like on current gen.

They could have dropped new maps and DLC and fans would have bought it up... -But they dropped the ball and did just the Campaign's with no new content or story, which was just crazy.

Anyway still hoping Crysis 4 is the whole Chicken Sandwhich with all the toppings.... Can't wait.

PrinceOfAnger194d ago (Edited 194d ago )

Yeah It will probably be 5 years development

SimpleSlave194d ago (Edited 194d ago )

That's awesome. So how long till the studio closes and everyone gets fired?

Crytek Sends Cease and Desist To A Popular Photo Mode Modder Frans Bouma

Immersed Gamer writes: "Frans Bouma just received a Cease and Desist letter from Crytek, developers of Crysis. Did he pirate their game? Or maybe he infringed on their copyright? What horrible thing did Bouma do to deserve this? Well, he modded in a photo mode so that people could take beautiful pictures and share them on social media."

Open source the code and dump it on the internet.

mastershredder884d ago

"from his Patreon page" Uhhhh yeah.......Oh gee and I wonder why that was problem? You know where this goes there Filip or perhaps you are just not quite yet.

Mazgamer883d ago (Edited 883d ago )

It's astounding how quickly someone uniformed will take a side of soulless company just because a modder might be making some pocket change.

For your information: He puts all of his camera mode mods on GitHub, completely free of charge. His Patreon is nothing more than a way to tip him some cash for his work.

He says so himself on his GitHub page:
I do this for fun, not profit, but can't create cameras for games I don't own. I've therefore setup a Patreon page which allows you to safely support my work".

Are you following "mastershredder", or are you not quite there yet?

Giblet_Head883d ago

I did some digging and from what I can see it's probably the "early access" releases of his mods only through Patreon that may have stirred Crytek to send the C&D. Apart from that his mods are indeed available free of charge through his GitHub page.

CobraKai883d ago

It’s a non-profit mod tho. It confuses me cuz modders can do things like completely overhaul the art assets of a game or add licensed cars, but adding a photo mode seems to get the cease.

Orchard883d ago

I guess they want to be the next T2/Rockstar...

Fishy Fingers883d ago

Rarely do you see something with so much potential (Crytek) shoot themselves in the foot so many times.

BlackIceJoe883d ago

Instead of sending a C&D Crytek should thank him, for this, because this will lead to more people buying and playing the game.
