Capcom dumps Resident Xbox owners due to Kinect?

Capcom announced today that it will be brining some sparkling HD remastered versions of the once Nintendo Wii exclusives Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles to the PS3 via digital download. It seems a natural fit as the PS3's Move controller can perfectly mimic that of the Wii, but where does this leave Xbox and its Kinect?

Not at all surprising, I just wish they would have thought about doing this when they released Resident Evil 4 HD on PS3/Xbox. Would have loved to have played that with the Move after all the buzz about the Wii version and that controller being the best way to play.

Talk about connecting two completely unrelated news items.

Wow.

He didn't even bother to mention the exclusive content for the Xbox 360 version of RE: Operation Racoon City. I'm surprised this was actually published on an Xbox site. It seems more like something I would read on neoGAF or the GameFAQs forums.

Also, being an owner of both Move and Wii. Move has greater accuracy when it comes to motion gaming, but Wii has superior pointing and shooting. Take that for what you will.

The article isn't about Operation Raccoon City though is it, so why mention the exclusive Nemesis Mode?

I'd rather have two HD remastered games on Xbox than one additional mode to an already packed and unrelated game any day of the week.

MultiConsoleGamer4841d ago (Edited 4841d ago )

Because the author is claiming Capcom is "dumping" RE support for 360, which isn't even remotely true, and that's proven by the exclusive content coming to the Xbox 360 version of Racoon City. This is about journalistic integrity, not your personal preference. (And for the record, RE:OC is a much higher profile title than either Wii port.)

This article is nothing but a sensationalist grab for cheap hits. Nothing more.

The only "dumping" going on here is the dumping of two Wii ports to the PSN network. They won't even be released on a disc.

Is it just because of the ease of transfering from the Wiimote to Move or did Sony shell out some cash. Either way it would be nice if they would show up on the marketplace eventually for XBOX owners.

I see the whole Kevin Butler pew-pew-pew thing and giggle.

I doubt Sony will shell out cash for those games, its probably Capcom just not wanting to spend eff... money in making those games Kinect compatible.

Then again why not a controller option?

Behind AC: New Horizons, this is my 2nd most wanted game this year.
Until Capcom remade RE2, RE3: Nemesis on PS1 was my favourite RE game.

Tross1926d ago (Edited 1926d ago )

I do think it's easily one of the most underrated RE games. I'm looking forward to fending off REmake Nemesis, especially since I heard his appearances throughout the game will now be somewhat randomized.

Umbrella chronicles is still my favourite it was really cool going back and playing the classics with updated graphics.

Nerdmaster1926d ago

I would say I thought Darkside Chronicles was better mainly because 2, Code Veronica and 4 (kind of represented in the game by Leon and Krauser) are my favorite games. But the super shaky camera in Darkside really bothered me...

Code veronica
the most difficult RE ever

2pacalypsenow2327d ago

Hell yeah it is.

That tyrant on the plane bit is a pain.

ButchKween2326d ago

That was my 1st entry into the series and yes it's very hard but so rewarding. If you don't play it right you can't actually progress If you're low on ammo 4 boss fight on plane or final boss. or if u don't leave ammo for the 2nd character later in the game in item box. I found that out the hard way. Just FYI even though Claire's the main character you play Chris for the final boss fight you better make sure there's enough items for him in the Box or you are fu@#$d

2pacalypsenow2327d ago

Fun fact, Code Veronica is actually the sequel to 2 and RE3 is a spin-off

IRetrouk2326d ago

Originally yes, it was going to be a spin off with a different lead, they changed it to Jill to tie it into the series and made it a companion title to 2 instead, cv is a sequel to both lol

4 Ways to Help NOT Ruin the Resident Evil 2 Remake

"As a longtime fan of the franchise there are several improvements I would like to see, and after the success of Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter: World, Capcom seems to be making all the right decisions with their tentpole franchises.
