GAME have been slashing prices all this week, but according to sources within the stricken retail giant, the “actual” sale doesn’t begin until Monday – but confusion continues to reign as to exactly what is happening even amongst the staff.
Gary Green said: Gamestation was a chain of retail shops in the United Kingdom selling new and used games. Gamestation was founded in 1993 in York, UK, and by 2002, it had 64 stores across the United Kingdom. Gamestation’s primary competitor was GAME, who were generally considered one of the most expensive retailers for games.
Gamestation’s main method of attracting customers was to put on more special offers than its competitor as well as focusing on pre-owned games and larger discounts on older titles. Gamestation would also usually beat GAME’s prices by at least 5%, with new releases at GAME typically charged at £39.99, while Gamestation would set their prices at £37.99 for the same titles.
Sports Direct’s takeover of Game Digital has edged closer as the company revealed on Monday it now owns 84% of the high street retailer, which has applied to be delisted from London Stock Exchange.

And let’s face it; everything is generally cheaper online from the vast number of websites like Amazon, ShopTo, Zavvi, Game Collection and deal forums like HotUkDeals when comparing prices to high street stores like Game, HMV, Argos or the local supermarket.
Well gamers, it would seem that more than half of all physical games are still sold in traditional bricks and mortar establishments according to last year’s stats.
A lot of stores did. But they saved a few after they found a buyer for the company. Just this week though, they announced they're ditching their pre-owned games department.
I bet most of the consoles sold in high streets and supermarkets are bought by parents (in other words, the uninformed buyers)
It certainly sounds as though it could be true and if it is then I'm there buying everything :p
But as much as I really dislike how much they charge there's something telling me that I don't want GAME/Gamestation to close down and I don't really know why. I just want another GAMEfest this year too!
They will still be overpriced.

at the moment its all the pre owned stock that is being sold off cheap. i picked up gow3 for 7 quid brink and lost planet 2 for 3 quid each ressistance 1 for 98p and king of fighters deluxe edition for 4 quid. its a good time to stock up on games you missed. i tried to find games with no online codes, but ill pop back in when the rest of the stock drops, one staff member said their was loads more stock to come out when i asked him for everybodys golf, i couldnt find it in amy of the stores.
