5 possible stinkers that seriously need your help

Here are five forthcoming games that could potentially bomb, not because they are bad games, but merely because the more well known and harder hitting titles have been given far greater exposure leaving the underdogs less talked about and ultimately likely to have less sales as a result. So in this regard, these games really do need your helping hand...well cash actually.

Alan Wake is a must, loved the original. While sadly not many may have played it or bought it, I am interested to see how Alan handles more action. Hopefully it's as thrilling and engaging as the original.

I Am Alive, interested - not yet convicned. Hooray for XBLA trials!

RaidensRising4460d ago

Correct me if I am wrong but I feel there's a general unwritten sentiment that if a game is on XBLA or PSN then the quality isn't as good as a full retail game especially considering the lower pricing and lesser content.

360GamerFG4460d ago

Here's me correcting you, I'd take Limbo, Shadow Complex and Trials HD over Rise of Nightmares, Duke Nukem and Haze any day!

Wintersun6164459d ago

Well of course there are exceptions but what RaidensRising said is true in most cases. I hope the new Alan Wake is one of those exceptions and succeeds though.

360GamerFG4460d ago

It sold 1.5 million at retail and was bundled as a downloadable with a couple of 360's. I'm sure a fair share of gamers got to play it.

I cant see why everyone has such a good opinion about Alan Wake I bought it yesterday in a bargain bin in gamestop for $12 and I totally regret paying even that price. I played it for about an hour and I found it really boring. Personally I think it is over rated even for a game that scored 8 out of 10 on most websites.

Frankfurt4460d ago

Go back to the CODs and Uncharteds, then. We will stay on this side of the fence.

perfectCarbonara4459d ago

COD's and Uncharteds !?

LOL, what's wrong with Uncharted ?

Any decent gamer enjoys both for what they are.

NeoTribe4459d ago

Wow don't ever ever ever say those 2 games in the same sentence. Can't believe u wrote that lol.

Wintersun6164459d ago

It might not be the most action filled game but IMO it makes up for it in story and mood.

JaredH4459d ago (Edited 4459d ago )

Well Alan Wake American Nightmare is supposed to be full of action and less on story so I don't think you'd find it as boring. It seems like you hated Alan Wake for the complete opposite reasons than what the new game is supposed to be.

And Alan Wake is like a cult hit despite only getting around 80. Do you think Borderlands is over rated too since that is even more of a hit, praised by gamers and more well received when it has about the same scores as Alan Wake? Or same with Infamous? Or any game that a lot of people like and praise but has a little bit higher than 80 average? Is Call of Duty not overrated because of it's average closer to 90 or is it just over rated by critics?

I don't understand your argument there at all since there's only like 100 reviews for each game yet millions who play them so there can be a difference in opinion between 100 people and millions.

There is a comment on your page from about a month ago saying you sold your 360 ''a few months ago''. How did you play with no Xbox?

'not because they are bad games'

How do you guys know that? Do you have some kind of crystal ball that lets you know? Nobody knows if these games will be good or bad until release.

ShadesMoolah4460d ago

Maybe because they played them already like a lot of sites. I am currently playing I Am Alive for example. No crystal balls here.

Alan Wake 2 is Where the Franchise Needs to go

Welcome back Link Cable Gaming fans, by far one of my favourite surprises of the Game Awards was the surprise announcement of Alan Wake 2. Alan Wake developed by Remedy Entertainment, and released in May 2010 on the Xbox 360, Alan Wake 2 will finally be brought back. While we were treated just this year to the surprise Alan Wake Remastered earlier in October 2021, or Alan Wake’s American Nightmare in February 2012, fans never got a true sequel. What will the future of the Alan Wake franchise look like?

Perfect! a sequel that will remind me of the smell of mildew and damp coffee grounds with a side of deadly premonition.

NecrumOddBoy855d ago

Where else would the franchise go? Seems like a sure thing. American Nightmare should be in the remake though.

Zahiar855d ago

You know I was thinking alternatives right?
For all it could have been, you know how the sequel market is sometimes, weird spin - offs, spiritual successors, reimagining, a VR walking simulator (bleh) and all that.
I like the idea of an evolved sequel way more

Zahiar855d ago

I guess Alan Wake got a redesign lol.
Because I thought it was Jared Leto lol

It’s the same actor from the first game

My most hyped project of this gen.
