Seriously, another one of these articles?

CarlitoBrigante4511d ago

Please everyone reading this: Click on the "gear" right in the picture and Report this no name website.

We don't need anymore of these kind of articles, it was already boring y 2007.

Yes yes we know, Sony is doomed like forever, can we move on now please?

MoXxXi4511d ago

Lol, if you don't like the article, don't read it?

I mean, if you really feel this way, I suggest you leave N4G all together because I guarantee half the shit published on this site is like this, or worse in some cases.

senorwakko4510d ago

Just because it isn't a one of the "major" sites does not necessarily make it a no name. Granted their are a lot of BS sites out there, but to attack the site because you don't agree with something goes beyond the scope. That is just my humble opinion.

crazypicklemonkey4512d ago

I cannot see one mistake sony did. I bought the ps3 for $600.00 brand new (loved it) i loved the launch titles (heavenly sword) i love the exclusives, the web browser was awesome at the time (and still pretty cool) the online is great, i honestly think half of the sony hate is made up from people looking for hits from articles, because everyone i know loves there ps3. (REAL WORLD)

darthv724512d ago (Edited 4512d ago )

form a marketing and advertising pov I used to see the ps brand in everything sony pictures/tv produced. Seemed only logical as it would be free advertising of one sony brand within another.

Now MS studied what worked for sony and followed suit. I have been seeing more and more 360 related product placement in everything else which stands to reason that sony only has so many studios and the others are fair game. It could very well be appeal as the article states.

nintendo came on in such a rather unforseen way with gaining support from everyone 9-90 that the hardcore appeal of the ps brand was really for the.....hardcore. The vita is not for the casual or the parent buying a system for their kids like what nintendo offers.

The question of tablet/mobile gaming on the rise via ios or wp7 or android will usually get laughed at by the core gamer but it still represent a portion of gaming and it will only get bigger.

sony has some good ideas and has had many before that either were ahead of their time or they gave to much credit to the consumer and didnt do enough to promote. In any case sony will figure things out.

Oh boy oh boy these types of articles need to be removed off this website.

Nah. Ff9 was a better game that many slept on when it released. Ff8 was a good one to, I hated the level scaling though. Still up there in the top 5 though. They sure don't make them like they used to unfortunately

Miraak82 9h ago(Edited 9h ago)

FF9 just represents the best of the series , I really hope it gets like the Link Awakening/Super Mario RPG treatment . FF8 on the other hand would need a complete overhaul from the combat to the story telling (because the story was really silly) , I remember hardly ever using magic as it was basically losing stats every time you used them especially the rarer junctions , the combat was basically attack, limit breaks, summoning and 80% of the time drawing magic . Only thing 8 had better was its card game .

Michiel19896h ago

you can't change that much about ff8 without completely demolishing it. Everything was connected, the junctioning, the combat, the gf abilites like turning cards into items and way more, you could do so many cool shit in ff8 and that would be lost if you make too many changes. Junctioning and magic was counterintuitive yeah, but it was all part of the minmaxing you could do. I think a change like when you junction something it takes how many you collected of that magic instead of your current amount (up to 99 ofc), I think that single change would solve a lot of problems already. You would have to draw less, you can use magic a lot more and you can still junction to the max like before.

Miraak82 3h ago

@Michiel1989 ya probably but it's also the reason why I'd rather just get a FF9 remake , it caters to the fans who've wanted to play a more traditional FF in the 3d realm since like FF10 almost 25 years ago . It has a more colorful and diverse cast of characters and world with a fun battle system with ability/spell progression that's tied to your equipment . FF8 the whole cast aside from their limit breaks and the world aside from Esthar city and the final areas didn't really do it for me , the towns , gardens and ruins all just had the same-y feel to them ( maybe it's just the color pallet) . With 9 I just feel like every character was unique within their role in a party and everywhere you went was a wholly different setting and experience .

Terry_B16h ago

Make it an actual remake of the game and not a reboot of the first hours of the game just to release the next hours some years later and nothing of it feels like FF9 actually aside from the same characters and locations used.

Puty5h ago

This! Don't wanna fanfic or reimagining.

solideagle16h ago

I just hope they don't divide into trilogy please...Full game from start to finish? Maybe in 2 parts maximum?

andy8516h ago

Seems like this is just one game thankfully and not on the scale of FF7

solideagle15h ago(Edited 15h ago)

Thank you for your reply! that's awesome news. I wish it was VIII first as I like 8 more than 9...

VersusDMC2h ago

It will probably be one game but will look like the secret and trails of mana remakes. Probably even one of those teams working on it.

Lolyta10h ago(Edited 10h ago)

I thought FF8 was the superior game to get a remake treatment ? whoever that shareholder that forced SE to make FF9 Remake he must've spent a lot of budget backing this to happen , pretty strange shift from 7 to 9 but hey .. FF8 was a much deserving to be remade since the story needs expansion between Squall and Laguna and it left on a cliffhanger note

343_Guilty_Spark9h ago

8 is a fantastic game but it’s no 9

Michiel19896h ago

it was only the swanswong of the ff creator, don't think much money was involved with that decision. Also ff7 and 8 have a similar, modern setting compared to ff9. I think ff9 makes much more sense

ff9 is also way more accessible than ff8

ff8 is one of my fav games of all time but the one thing that still bothers me a lot is how they pulled a cheap anime move, that in the last episode when you defeat the villain SURPRISE SURPRISE I was not the real villain but a servant of another bad guy. Not exactly the same as ff8 with Edea and Ultimecia, but same idea but instead of a bad guy she was their nanny

yes, the psp and ps3 ui was sooo good

Vits2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

"The PSP’s simple yet intricate layout gave it a timeless structure, offering a unique but comfortable experience."

Yeah, no. There have been huge improvements in the ergonomics of handhelds in the past couple of years. The PSP, especially if we consider the 2000, 3000, and Street PSP models, had a flat back. Saying that this console was comfortable is definitely looking at the past with rose-tinted glasses.

"The analog stick aligns perfectly with the thumb."

It doesn't even have an analog stick; it has a slider.

This is a nostalgia-filled fluff piece that says nothing. If Sony wants to release a new device, they can't make the same mistakes they did with the PSP and the PS Vita. They have to look at what works now in the segment, consider what is available to people, and create something based on that.

Leave the original PSP design for a PSP Mini or something like that.

Goodguy011d 10h ago

I always liked the vita's design. Just make the analogs clickable, add the triggers, get rid of the back touch, and you're good. The psp is great as well.

There are PC/Android handhelds that have mimicked the psp and vita designs.

Puty1d 10h ago

I'd rather have two sticks, thank you very much ^^;

NotoriousWhiz23h ago

Right. What are these people smoking? It's needs all the buttons / sticks that exist on the PS5 controller.

Atleast release a remaster trilogy or something to gage interest. I'd buy it. With that said I'm pretty over superheroes at this point. Infamous is still dope as fk though so it'd be a buy

isarai1d 6h ago

Omfg i would go apesh!t for that 😩

jznrpg1d 20h ago

I agree but games take 4-6 years to make so who knows when they would do it? After Ghost of Tsushima2? They could have something else in the world as well in early production who knows.

mkis0071d 19h ago

It's a shame Sucker Punch finally figured out a good open world formula only while making Ghost of Tsushima. Infamous 1 and 2 were great for their time, but Second son felt too much like a checklist in It's design. I love the hell out of all 3 games (2 and 3 are just so damn good, while 1 shows it's age and the ps3 struggles), but I would love to see how they would do another infamous with all they have learned. Wouldn't hurt to release a remastered collection either.

Demetrius1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

This series, days gone, will continue to get ignored by sony, luckily we still have the horizon series, sly cooper not getting pushed anymore, speaking of that I'm bout to get on my ps2 and play some sly 2 anyways lol, but seriously I never woulda thought back then sony would ever cold shoulder most of their franchises I'm actually surprised they're still letting ratchet&clank be around
