Can Twisted Metal Succeed Without DLC?

however, depends on the success of the game, Sony themselves might make the move to release DLCs without Jaffe. Sony owns the rights for the game after all!

as a player of twisted metal throughout the years id say that the game doesnt need dlc not by a long shot, i played twisted metal black all the way from its time it came out and for a good long time, and even recently re bought it and enjoyed it very much, all with no online needed, so i know with a multiplayer that in itself will extend this twisted metals life for years to come

Do we really need DLC for maps? DLC for colors when you can create your own designs? DLC for Characters when most of them are 'unlockbles', remember those?

We are already paying $60 bucks for games these days, i do not wanna spend another $10-$20+ for the rest of it all the time. People complain how expensive something is *cough* Vita *cough* but are okay with DLC.

I do not mind DLC at all, i just feel sometimes that many of these are rip offs when they could easily be in the game in the first place.

I applaud Jaffe for being old school & care more about a solid game right from the get go rather than trying to syphon money from us for mostly useless junk.

The Twisted Metal demo is the best demo I've ever played. I played the demo for at least 50 hours and that's just a very small portion of the game. I'll be playing the full game for years. I feel deeply sorry for you that you can't enjoy one of the greatest games this world has ever seen.

It's the twisted metal game fans have been waiting for years. And it is good.

If you even played it which i doubt, you proceeding to try to play without knowing the controls and got murdered by the ai several times and said the game is trash, ie it's too hard.

The best games I've played had no DLC. And then, somehow, this generation came up and incomplete games started to pop up.

A bigger problem is thinking that a game- any game- needs DLC to succeed.

In the past, games didn't have DLC because there was no way to implement it (among other things). Still, these games had dozens of hours- not just five or six- of gameplay, and high replay value (the good ones, of course). Now, however, replay value is left to DLC or online components; very few games give you reasons to play through the story multiple times.

My two favorite games of this generation had very little in the way of DLC. I only hope that more games follow the example of being complete out of the box, in the future, instead of forgetting that they should be that way in the first place.

There will be DLC for Twisted Metal if the game sells enough. At least that's what David Jaffe has lead me to believe.
