Gaming Unwrapped Writer Ryan "Rdawg" T Says - "2011 was a big year for shooters. With releases like Battlefield 3, Resistance 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Modern Warfare 3, it would be a shame to say that it wasn’t one of the biggest years for the genre that we have seen in a while. With this many shooters being released, every gamer really has to choose which ones were hits and which ones were misses. I mean hell, who has the money to buy every single one? This being said, I would have to rate Homefront pretty high on that list, and I would give it a top 3 spot as far as 2011 shooters go."
Jack writes: "Back in March 2011, the first-person action shooter Homefront arrived on the Xbox 360 from THQ, along with a storm of publicity which included a really cool live-action trailer"
Last week game dev Steve Thornton took to Twitter to ask: fellow devs, have you ever slipped something into a game you're working on that's just for you? The replies are well worth a read.
Deep Silver and Humble Bundle are currently offering the first Homefront game for free. This offer will last for the next 48 hours, so be sure to visit its Humble Bundle page in order to acquire your free copy.
get it! the single player is excellent and intense and the MP is pretty fun, too.
Ehh, PS4 needs these deals too, or consoles in general we always get discounts rarely free stuff that's REALLY free (games with gold / psplus isn't free)
most overhyped maybe?
It had a good set-up, but the basic shooting mechanics, poor hit-detection, underwhelming set pieces, and terrible AI made sure it was a failure. It's like the writer knew what he was doing, but the actual developers were drunk.
My review would say heck no to that idea. At the same time, it's not like the other 2011 shooters I've played are as good as critics lead us to believe (BF3, MW3, R3, Brink).
The game was good, not great. The multiplayer was damn good..
