Teknogamia : It's a great new year for gaming as many of the anticipated hot titles that were supposed to come last year shifted to 2012 in-order to avoid clash between the big Franchises, leaving gamers with more relaxed options for choosing their favorite games so they can fully enjoy the game's intense experience.

Just like last year, here is the top 10 list for the most anticipated games for PC platform for the year 2012.

Yep, no point nit picking, 2-3 of them i dont care about, but thats expected, different generations of gamers prefer different game styles. Mass effect 3 is definitively a right choice though.

Why does everyone put games like the Darkness 2 and Syndicate on PC game lists for 2012? Neither game looks that special and there are PC exclusives like Starcraft 2: HotS, Mechwarrior Online, Guild Wars 2, Torchlight 2, Planetside 2 and War of the Roses coming! Then there are games like Borderlands 2, Prey 2, Farcry 3 and Tomb Raider coming as well.

And FFS Operation: Racoon City is not RE6 and it looks kinda crappy, like some cheap L4D copycat. Also I doubt that RE6 is coming this year for PC, it's coming some time after console and it's due late in the year.

Who approves this crap?

@Voxelman,

It's an opinion piece, so gaming tastes can differ. Torchlight 2 is no where any anticipated as its previous part wan't that good, farcry is gettning boring like hell!, and you talk about Tomb Raider??, dude do you know how many copies were sold of its last release ?? the numbers were quite low!, indicating loss of interest!

Syndicate : As i mentioned in the ANTICIPATION FACTOR, it's a reboot of its original game which was released in 1993 so it's worth including it.(at least I am excited)

Voxelman4502d ago (Edited 4502d ago )

Torchlight 2 looks to be the Diablo II to it's Torchlight and at least it's likely to come out this year unlike Diablo III, but you could swap it out for Grim Dawn if you like.

As for FarCry you talk about it like it's an annual release or something, 3 looks to be an entire new game with a very different setting and tone.

Tomb Raider is a reboot that looks and sounds to be reinventing the franchise in more ways than one. And if you are going for sales then The Dark ness is off right there the fisrt game didn't even break 1 million on PS3 and 360 combined but the last Tomb Raider sold 1.1 million on PS3 alone. Then add the fact the first game wasn't on PC and it's apeal for PC gamers is very low. Oh and the last Tomb Raider game did much better than the one before indicating increasing interest.

Syndicate is a butchering of the IP and looks to be just another FPS with co-op and gadgets. Not a lot to be exited about especially as the original game did well but wasn't a big hit. It's well loved by those that played it but not well known. Other than being developed by Starbreeze there is little to be exited about.

Look at any list generated by votes and you will see Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, Mass Effect 3 and Bioshock: infinite right up the top, I doubt you would find the Darkness or Syndicate anywhere near the list, hell Diablo 3 came out on top of Gametrailers all platform user list. And if you like Sci-Fi shooters there is Aliens: Colonial Marines and Prey 2.

I understand it's an opinion based but when you list Raccoon city (which looks lazy to say the least) as RE6 you know there are problems. You should have called the list "My most anticipated" if you were only going to base the list on your opnion rather than looking at what people in general are exited about.

Also now you have picked out the lowest of my alternate picks what's wrong with Plantside 2, Mechwarrior Online, War of The Roses, Prey 2, Starcraft 2 (should be near the top of the list behind GTA if you are factoring in past sales), Guild Wars 2, Borderlands 2, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Dota 2? I would personally put them all over Syndicate and The Darkness 2, and I bet most PC gamers would agree. Probably Ghost Recon as well considering all the shit Ubisoft has been slinging.

Oh and why on earth do you talk about the graphics in the anticipation factor for Diablo 3?

dougr4502d ago (Edited 4502d ago )

GTA, Mass Effect, and KoA are the only ones I'm really interested out of those. I'll pick up Max Payne and Darkness 2 down the line though when they are discounted heavily.

edit: never mind about darkness 2 I thought it was something else, watched a preview of it just now, it looks rather retarded imo.

There are no "thoughtful" ads in video games, EA

There are no thoughtful ads in Video Games, EA. Leave them be.

I think the only type of games that can gets away with it would be sport games, having those sponsors ads on the side like on real life.

But don't put freaking Doritos ads in Star Wars or something, it breaks the immersion. If it is a pop-up ads, then big no.

Hofstaderman18d ago

EA can thoughtfully eff themselves.

Makersbreath218d ago

EA coming back for the crown of being perceived as the worst company in gaming.

Chocoburger18d ago (Edited 18d ago )

One of my favorite series is the THPS franchise, and it was packed with ads, but it didn't bother me. Posters for skateboard companies, JEEP, and Nokia phones. It did sort of fit in with the game world, but that was the past, these days ad would be intentionally intrusive or unskippable loading screen type of imagery. Ugh, I know EA would do it in a horrible fashion. Screw them.

Report: Sexual Misconduct Investigation Conducted at EA, Suspects Named and What They Did Revealed

EA senior staff has been investigated for sexual misconduct involving female coworkers, and these said people have been named publicly.

isarai24d ago

Aye just call Phil, i mean he somehow made Bobby Kotick's scandal disappear and gave him a few million dollar high five on the way out.

Cacabunga23d ago

I wonder if it will be censored with some in game ads.

MrBaskerville21d ago (Edited 21d ago )

Microsoft did, Phil Spencer played a minor part. He instigated the buyout that led to Kotick escaping all his controversies while getting a golden handshake.

Someone on Twitter calculated that the people hired in Tango and Arkane Austin could get a decent salary for roughly 17 years for the money Kotick was paid.

InUrFoxHole21d ago

Yeah some thing tells me Kotics $ was already guaranteed before MS made the deal. As for the studios... Let's be honest here... none of those studios made system sellers.

XiNatsuDragnel24d ago (Edited 24d ago )

EA about to go down like Activision and then Phil saves the day saying.this is good for the industry and consolidation will help create competition. /s.

MrBaskerville21d ago

Then they shutdown Codemasters and studio behind Jedi Survivor.

Atleast they could hardly do much damage that EA hadn't allready done. EA has shut down most of their studios by now.

What's up with all these horny creeps. You gon be horny, fine. Just not at work take care of that shit before you go in. Rub one out if you have to. Don't be a creep at all. ESPECIALLY at work. But don't be one AT ALL.

Extermin8or3_23d ago

I mean part of the issue is that things transpired outside of work....

MrBaskerville21d ago

That's the thing he mentioned about not being a creep at all.

KwietStorm_BLM23d ago

You think deviants care where they are? Work sometimes makes it an even better situation for them because they can abuse their power.

mudakoshaka23d ago

Nerds think they are Gods when they are making video games.

NotoriousWhiz24d ago (Edited 24d ago )

"it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed. [...] The victim still has to work with the people that harassed her."

Yep, EA is disgusting.

Extermin8or3_23d ago

I mean the fact stuff happened outside of work puts EA in quite a difficult position legally. These women don't seem to have reported the matter to the police which kinda ties EA's hands on what they can do. If they don't file reports of the crimes then yeah from EA's perspective it is stuff that happened outside of work. The only exception is the guy that apparently referenced things in the slack channel for work, spending on what he said proving it may be very hard and he may well be able to get away with plausible deniability. I don't like EA and I think these people need to be dismissed but without any legal action being taken, EA can't really do much without risk of being sued themselves for unfair dismissal etc.
