What will Microsoft do as an encore to being the best selling game console world wide for 2011?
The cuts are expected to be announced next week.
Microsoft is also planning thousands of job cuts that will impact other parts of it businesses
MFs has been beating their chests over great quarterly results and big profits to shareholders while firing people by the thousands just like Sony.
I wonder if at the top of those rumored layoffs they´ll also cancel upcoming or unannounced games while shutting down more studios as well.
AMD CEO Lisa Su talks about the Xbox AMD partnership, next-gen Ryzen + Radeon chips, and AI rendering tech coming to all Xbox devices.
AMD is really building hype around their unique partnership with Microsoft to help and build an advanced and seamless Xbox ecosystem across all Xbox consoles and devices.
I wonder what she meant by "full roadmap of gaming optimized chips" though? Seems ambitious.
Next year´s Xbox Showcase already looks promising and exciting. Here´s hoping they deliver.
Some odd, deliberate wording, no branding, not 'Xbox consoles, Xbox handhelds' specifically, feels and sounds like they're building towards hardware that anyone can be used or licensed to/by themselves and other manufacturers.
Multiplatform software and hardware 'Xbox/AMD APU'.
Shares vision....we provide chips for money, this deal will sell many chips, we will make lots of money...good vision
The marketing behind this is so heavy that I worry about the actual outcome. Why are they just not showing us the product, why all this talking in market speak?
With the launch of Call of Duty Season 4, Activision quietly put adverts inside loadouts for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, sparking a backlash in the process.
Putting Ads in a pay-to-play Premium title? Well done Microsoft. Well done /s This is really scummy.
A pricecut/Halo 4/Star Wars Kinect are all they need to remain no.1 WW. They had next to nothing in 2011 and came out on top, 2012 should be easy pickings.
The funny part is that all I heard last year was how Sony had all these great exclusives, Microsoft had nothing and then Sony had a price drop and Microsoft didn't match it. So everyone thought Microsoft messed up. Turns out they did the smart thing and had their best year ever and with the more expensive product.
Sony fans must be scratching their heads wondering what Sony has to do to win something these days.
This year Microsoft is sitting pretty because they can do a price drop and really start to get some great numbers. A $149 4 gig Xbox 360 and a $99 Kinect would sell amazingly well.
Also, I forgot about Steel Battalion Heavy Armor and Project Draco, those both look very promising.
I don't see Microsoft letting go of the WW lead anytime soon.
Oh and by the way America=World.
I think this scenario is likely. They sold crazy numbers with a PS3 that even saw a pricecut.
The only thing that could ruin this is a Xbox 3 announcement. Other than that I don't think Star Wars, Halo, Fable, Steel Battalion, great marketing, price cut, next wave of Kinect titles and thousands of Apps can be stopped.
Especially the Apps will become an important factor for MS and the industry overall.
I think MS is in a comfortable position right now. Sony needs to make a profit better sooner than later. Nintendo has to show us these "OMG-Moments" with the Wii U and they need to make money as well after a year of losses.
Another point is that all the new studios MS opened need time to get their porjects running. So they definitely don't want the next gen to start before fall 2013 for them.
< Die hard microsoft fan MWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAH
