The world of indie game development encompasses many different design philosophies and mentalities. For some teams, developing their own game is a way to make the games that they always wanted to make without any restrictions on content, and at the same time find a platform to establish an identity for bigger development projects. Elvidian Entertainment is hoping to accomplish that goal with the upcoming Flash based RPG Ortus.
The game is being developed along the idea that RPGs should provide true player choice, and that those actions should include a true set of consequences. We sat down through email with Josiah Brooks, artistic director for Elvidian, to answer some of our burning questions regarding the upcoming epic.
