GameZebo: Excellent graphics. Incredibly deep turn-based strategy gameplay. Well-written storyline. Lots of fun once you get the hang of things.

Mobile Monday – 02/04/2012 (GodisaGeek)

GodisaGeek: "I honestly can’t believe how quickly this year is going, it’s another Monday already! It’ll soon be Christmas all over again. Shocking! Well, this week we’ve got four more games for your gaming pleasure. The first is Diggin’ Dogs, a strange little game the gives the player the task of digging through the earth to get some golden boots for the three dogs. Yeah, odd.

Secondly there’s Time of Heroes, an RTS game with RPG elements from the guys at Smuttlewerk Interactive. Certainly something to check out if you’re a fan of the genres. Next up is Mad Coaster, one of those crazy, addictive “run-left-to-right” games that will keep you up at night. Last up is Don’t Run With A Plasma Sword, which is another “run-left-to-right” game that…”borrows” from a lot of familiar concepts. Play it, you’ll see what I mean."

Diehard GameFAN: Time of Heroes Review

DHGF: I have to admit, I pretty much hate gaming on my iPhone. Every game I’ve taken a look at has opted to emulate a controller on the screen instead of letting you just control your character by the touch screen. It ends up blocking the screen, making it cluttered, and when you’re done you have to spend ten minutes cleaning the areas where the ‘control sticks’ were. It’s one of the reasons I actually played Pocket Frogs so much. You clicked on the screen to move your frogs around and it was fast and simple. So when we got Time of Heroes to review, I figured I’d give it a shot, figuring I’d have to fight with an imaginary control stick. Happily enough, the developer used the touch screen to full effect, letting you move and select units on the screen, as well as zoom in and out just like you would any other well designed app, and it played well too. But is it a good strategy RPG besides? Let’s take a look.

Pocket Gamer: Time of Heroes Review

Pocket Gamer: Innovation is all very well, but experimentation and tinkering don't always produce the desired results.

Time of Heroes, from Smuttlewurk Interactive, walks the line between valiant attempt and revolutionary update. Some of its revisions of the turn-based strategy genre are spot on, while others leave you feeling like they needed a little more work.
