G4: NFL Blitz Review - Xbox 360

NFL Blitz 2012 reboots the Blitz franchise for those who find games like Madden a little too complicated. It's still fun, but some questionable decision making and lack of attention to detail make it pretty much just average.

"for those who find games like Madden a little too complicated."

lol Madden is hardly a simulation. It's an arcade game. The last true football simulation game to come out was NFL2K5.

NFL Blitz is fun, but ill admit not having late hits kinda sucks. My brother and I were having alot of fun but the lack of that killed it somewhat.

How the NFL was convinced to put its name on a violent video game

When NFL Blitz rebooted under EA Sports in 2012, with the franchise's creator back on the case, it lacked nearly all of the oomph that made the 1997 original so appealing, even to non-sports fans. No late hits, no over-the-top bodyslams. Quarterbacks weren't really sacked so much as they were shoved to the ground. Receivers were hip-checked and stumbled to the turf.
