i think Dead Space 2 deserved more credit. It's SP campaign is one of the best this year and right up there with any other top AAA title like Uncharted or Gears. The team did a stellat job with the story and it didn't disappoint. The MP mode was garbage though. My god I wish they didnt tack that crap on.

I agree too, me my m8 was hoping for sp co-op too not multiplayer co-op witch was a con cos actually just mp.
No a real co-op would done his game.

I agree, but I disagree about the MP. I thought it was great, but it was only great when people worked together as a team.

Btw, going to be petty now, but you said "this year". It was last year. :P I can't believe its been a year since DS2 came out. Time flies I guess...

Best:Amnesia the dark descent
Worst:FEAR 3

Well, if Amnesia can be considered, then I'd give it Best. Dead Space 2 barely passes as a horror game for me. Not a single scare over the entire experience. A nicely paced action perhaps, but in no way a scarier game than the first.

Duke Nukem's level of crappiness was astoundingly scary, so that's the best horror game of 2011.

It's bizarre that the nominations actually include so many non-horror games - but it's a sign of how few genuine horror games are around in the mainstream these days. Dead Space 2 was terrific, but for real psychological chills mods like Amnesia: White Night are where it's at right now.
