GP: "Licensed games have been around for a long time now (nearly since the conception of videogames themselves), but let's face it- the vast majority are usually never any good at all.
For those who aren't quite up on what the term means, 'licensed game' typically refers to a game based upon a movie, TV show, cartoon, or book and is often associated with games of low quality. The biggest examples of this are hugely successful movies that are adapted into games, but unfortunately these games are usually never as successful as the movies they are based upon. However, in the past couple of years the gaming industry has seen its fair share of good licensed games that will hopefully show developers how to create a great game based upon a pre-existing concept."
